My Introduction :)

Hello all!
I guess I'll have to bore you all with my story. I'm Lisa and I have a beautiful 2 year old girl named Heather. I have a job promotion in England in about a month so I came here with hopes to find Muslims there who will teach me about Islam. Who knows, maybe I'll meet a nice Muslim husband there *crosses fingers*

I was born 7th Day Adventist, but I was never really drawn into religion. It was after my daughter was born when I realized it that I needed a moral path for her. I read on many different religions, but Islam seems to have it just right! I will not choose to neglect my daughter and have her to grow up with a baseless life. My daughter deserves the best and I am optimistic that Islam will offer her that along with tranquility and peaceful path. I am not content with my past. I was blessed with physical beauty, but believe me its not a blessing at all! I grew up confused thinking that I was born to just be a model and beauty queen, but I always felt objectified. I know now that there is more to me than just that. I hope to learn about Islam and take shahada and become part of this beautiful community.

Well its nice to meet you all! Anyone here from the UK?

Say hi to heather from me!

Thank you all for the warm welcome.

Scotty, I find your story exceptionally humbling. I read your other posts and I must say you are a very intelligent young man. I do not doubt that your younger brother will revert soon, because a sophisticated and smart gentleman such as yourself will know how to pull him into the right path. I find you inspiring, and I will try hard not to bug you, but I don't you won't mind if I have any questions in the future. What I wish to accomplish is 1)wearing the hijab, 2) learn Arabic and quran and 3) instill this ideology into my daily life and become a great impact on my daughter.

Hi Seeking Allah's Mercy :) Thank you for welcoming my Heather :) I would post her picture here waving hi back to you, but I am yet to figure out how to use this website

Awwi! I look forward to that. You just sketched hundreds of pictures in my mind. Pics of waving, smiling babies *Smile*. May Allah bless you with the best of His blessings and make your daughter the coolness of your eyes.

For pics, first upload it at tinypics or something like that. Then click this tiny icon up there. It's third from right with a small tree drawn on it. It says "insert image" if you place a mouse over it. Put the URL of your uploaded pic here and ta-da, I get to see your daughter waving at me *Smile*.

Welcome Sister,

I would say the priority-3) Best Mom, First teacher, First school (home) should become Priority 1. May you become her best friend, by your deeds and actions and may you remain best friend for her lifetime, May your beautiful child grow up and remain beautiful from deep within ... Ameen.

Welcome To ISLAM. I was borned muslim. But i have never practiced my prayer and worn my hijab before. I always skipped my prayer and fasting. But I am always impressed with the way the new muslim converts behave and practiced ISLAM. And these reminds me of one of the biggest sign of Qiamat. That towards the end, ISLAM will spread widely in the west and bunches of new muslim converts will grow rapidly from the west. Yet, most of the current borned muslims are fadding away and did not proper practice ISLAM. ( not all).

I am a beautician and also a weight management consultant. 2 years ago as m trying to complete my books, I realised that everything linked back to the QURAN. That drives me to buy a quran with translations. One of my findings really amazed me on the linkage between 'darkness at night' and 'darkness when we are in our mom's tummy'.

ISLAM normally divide every night into 3 PARTS of darkness. And the 2nd part of darkness is between 2-3am which happened to be the best time for QIAMULAIL where we got very close and personal with Allah swt. And there also 3 parts of darkness while we are in our mom's tummy, 1 part in the womb and 1 part in the placenta. And the 9months was divided into 3 parts whereby while we enter into the 2nd part, we communicate our promise to acknowledge that Allah swt is the only god that allow our 'roh' or spirit being entered to create our 1st heartbeat.

This 2nd part of darkness in the womb and 2nd part of darkness at night happened every day expecting us to wake up at night by 2-3am to pray and communicate with Allah swt. This is the 'fitrah' that we should follow. Coz the right time to sleep in ISLAM starts after Isyak where every 1 hour sleep before 12 gaves us twice benefit compare to 1 hour sleep after 12. So its not about 8 hours sleep. Its about Quality sleep at the right time. And if try to sleep after Isyak, our biological clock will trigger us to wakeup exactly during 2/3 of the night. Our body is created by Allah and the system actually follow the cycle. Our prophet Rasulullah saw did asked us to sleep and dont eat after Isyak (detoxification starts at 9pm), shutdown all lights (melatonin hormones only appear in the dark) and sleep facing to the right in the same position while we are in the womb for HEALTH purpose. Thats one of the reason why, those who sleep late and eat after Isyak will have Health problem like hormones imbalance and put on weight . These are the findings, infact more findings that Ive found, that leads me back to practised ISLAM the right way and started wearing Hijab 8 months ago. I will always, pray with the right posture at 90 degree during rukuk and put up my hands for 'takbir' to align my spinal coz down to the spinal is our cocyx which will follow every prayer position that we did. Cocyx will never destroy when we die and will be the only human remains left coz it will be used to wake us up after death for judgement. 'IQRA' means 'READ' coz only when read, we are knowleadgable and see the MIRACLE of ALLAH swt. ALLAHU AKHBAR. [email protected]

Islam is a way of life
Salaam alaykum Lisa!!

Welcome to the forum and good luck in England. :)
You will hate the food. I can assure you that. But the scenery is breath taking so i guess it all evens out.
My husband is English. He's actually moving to America for good in January (not that that is relevant...)

I am a convert alhamdulilah since 2009 and this site is amazing! Did you know there is also a Sisters Only Area? Go apply, its so great =D

Salam alaikum Lisa.

I am from the UK. I am also a revert to Islam; I've been muslim for 8 months now. My stepdad is muslim and my mum is also a revert. My little brother hasn't reverted, but he might before too long. So, I kind of understand how things are for you, because your story is quite similar to my mum's in ways.

Islam is amazing and I think you will enjoy learning about it. The only word of caution I would give you, from personal experience, is just be cautious about 'forcing' your choice on your daughter. I'm not saying you shouldn't raise her as a muslim...I'm just speaking as a young guy who made the choice for himself. My mum married my stepdad when I was 9, and they took the decision not to raise me or my younger brother as muslims; but instead to let us decide for ourselves when were older. Long story short....6 years later I became a muslim anyway!

I know you will do whatever you decide is best, but reverting to Islam is a challenge with lots of new things to do and learn. For an adult it can be difficult, so for a kid it's even harder for them to adapt. That's all I'm saying :) Just bear that in mind.

If you've any questions ask away!

asalaam aleykum,

i really Admire your well coming notes.

thank you ..

oh ! by the way well come on board sis
