(true meaning of Present is a gift)

Suban’Allah, I realize one of my big mistakes I continue to make. Because I came from a life of speculation, arguments, debates and philosophy as a Christian, I find I continue to do this as a Muslim to those who are Christian when I say I do not believe in Trinity, I do not believe Jesus alayhi Wasallam is God or the Son of God. This turns into great debate and I catch myself quoting from the Gospels or Scriptures and just a never ending cycle of a feeling of emptiness once again.

My mother used to tell me when I was a teenager I was so good at argument I should be a lawyer. I would tell my Mother I was to honest to be a Lawyer, she even bought me a gavel in my teenage years for my charm bracelet she gave to me as a child hoping I would go to law school and be a Lawyer then a Judge . I am tired of arguing; I accomplish nothing from arguing or being philosophical with just ideas and no basis of real fact (past tense(sion) that a Christian would understand unless Allah Subana Wa Ta'ala open them to Islam), that's the old way of thinking mixed in with the arrogance of argument of the past.

Alhamdulillah, slowly but surely as I pray to Allah Subana wa Ta’ala always to replace my bad habits with the good habits, I ask Allah Subana Wa Ta'ala to humble me in my actions and I find I am being shown the way through the right education and Brothers and Sisters who guide me along the way. I realized instead of saying they (Christians etc) are wrong in their belief, I will only say, Islam, without debate is right and keep moving forward from there Insha’Allah.

“And there may spring from you a nation who invite to goodness, and enjoin right conduct and forbid indecency. Such are they who are successful. [Al-Imran 104]

Sister Assalam-o-alikum,

I can understand your frustration. But at ocassions like these the best thing to do is to make Dua.

Think of our Prophet (PBUH) who was raised and protected by his uncle Abu Talib. He even gone thru the Shib Abi Talib (the Meccan boycott of the Hashemites when they were forces to live for nearly 3 years in an area called Shib Abi Talib where they suffered extreme hunger and were often they had to feed on the leaves or tree bark etc). Such an uncle of our Prophet (PBUH) who not only supported him but who also suffered with him, dies without accepting Islam. How much of a huge heartbreak this must have been. Therefore Allah (SWT) tells him that his task is to just deliver the message, turning of the heart is in Allah's hand only.

I make dua to Allah (SWT) that He give guidance to all of your relatives and friends. Ameen.
Wassalam.

I think you are right, only Allah can change a person`s heart, He changes our condition according to our intentions.

"Allah says, 'I am as my servant expects Me to be, and I am with him when he remembers me. If he thinks of Me, I think of him. If he mentions Me in company, I mention him in an even better company. When he comes closer to Me by a handspan, I come closer to him an arm's length. If he draws closer to Me by an arm's length, I draw closer by a distance of two outstretched arms nearer to him. If my servant comes to Me walking, I go to him running." (Al-Bukhari)

It hurts me to see how everyone looks at muslims from above and islam is maybe the most hated religion. But we know, alhamdulillah that is the only true, pure religion and when we take under deep analysis every word of Prophet Mohamed s.a.w.s., we wont be able to find any mistake; even if we try to explain what Quran says, humans tend to be more pleased with everything else, celebrating even peanut butter day, but closing the eyes when it comes to Allah and islam.
It is obvious, i think, that life of a muslim is not appealing for someone that loves the dunya with blind eyes and/or whatever traditions he was raised in, even if those traditions are wrong and twisted.
So may Allah help you and us to keep our heads up and our feelings positive as long as we live. His presence and help can give us strength beyond imagination.

Walikum asalamu, Ameen Sister. The life of a Muslim I find takes work, dicipline and strength of the mind, body and spirit including restraint and patience. Unless a person is Muslim they could never understand how rewarding and such a gift it is to be a Muslim. JazakiAllah Khairan

Walikum Asalamu Brother, yes and at first it was so frustrating because I had to unwind and replace so many bad habits I realized I had that was programmed into my life. I am the only Muslim in my family therefore I have no immediate Muslim family or friends to teach me about the way of the Life of the Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wasallam and the excellent example He set on how to deal in all manners we are exposed to in the world and I really didn't understand what it meant to sin, sounds very strange but this is part of being lost away from the truth. The Christian belief leaves a person very confused who knows something didn't make sense in their explanation. Although the population has grown and we have different technology, people are the same, the temptations in life are the same and that is why the Qur'an and the example the Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wasallam set is timeless. Thank you for sharing this story on the Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wasallam and his Uncle, how I love to hear about the Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wasallam and his Companions May Allah be pleased with them all, although many stories are very heartbreaking how the Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wasallam was treated and is still treated today by Non Muslims. Insha'Allah one day I will have someone close in my life to tell me everything about the history and Hadiths and everything there is about Islam. JazakAllah Khairan

They will hurl stones at you, all you have to do is be patient, collect them and pave your path to Allah SWT. Keep focusing on improving yourself sister. At times, you might fall, but never hesitate to get up and walk towards your Lord. Indeed, He loves who take pains for HIM.
