Today the word ‘Muslim’ is being misused even by Muslims. Being a Muslim is conditional, the minimum requirement is to practice or implement the Five Pillars of Islam in their life. So in this regard a person who is born into a Muslim family and has a Muslim name but does not practice the Five Pillars of Islam then that person is not a Muslim. Even if we look at the example above as given in the online dictionary, it states that a Muslim is a follower of Islam. This is technically incorrect as to be a Muslim it is not enough just to follow the religion of Islam. Follow the religion of Islam in what way?
Today there are millions of people who claim to be Muslims but they do not ‘follow’ the religion of Islam. They do not pray, they do not give to charity, they do not fast, they do not go on pilgrimage when they can afford to. They have a ‘Muslim’ name and if you ask them they will tell you they are Muslim. But a Muslim in what way? Just being born into a Muslim family and being known by a Muslim name is not enough.
There are millions of ‘Muslim’ men and women enjoying the kuffar way of life. Drinking alcohol, smoking, partying and even sisters not covering up properly. If a sister takes off her hijab intending never to wear it again then Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala will make ten new converts to put it on. Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala does not need us but we NEED Him. And He tells us in the Glorious Qur’an that if we want enjoyment, wealth and a kuffar way of life He will grant it to us but we will have no share in the Akhira.
So I urge everybody who claims to be a Muslim to know what the meaning of a Muslim is and to fully adopt that lifestyle which is pleasing to God Almighty and to be a true Muslim. Alhamdulila to be a Muslim is not a sacrifice, we have granted so much concession by Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala as He tells us that all the shackles that held the previous nations were untied and that we have been blessed.

What does it take to lead a Muslim life?

Peace and blessings.

They believe but they do not practice. This is the only difference.

Do they have a chance? Well it depends on what they do or what they do not do. But they are considered to be Muslims, Muslims in big trouble.

Peace!

Peace and blessings to you too bro,

I am talking about the people who just stands idly by and talking as if they have not heard the Adhan. I see this every day where I live and the people who attend the masjid fill up to two or three rows, this is so sad when the majority of "Muslims" are outside enjoying themselves.

Is just believing enough. I know that anybody with a mustard seed of faith will probably be saved Allahu Alum but we also have to practice as was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (SalAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam). Otherwise, the visits of Jibril (Alayhi Salaam) and teaching us the deen is pointless. We must practice in a way that is pleasing to Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala.
There is also the danger that we will make halal all that has been made haram. Astaghfirullah.

Allahu Alum.

It is sad. Yes indeed.

People of Muslim origin born, raised and dwelling near the Haram and who have heard and continue to hear the adhan five times a day all of their lives and find a way to be rabid wrongdoers. And others who live in New York for example and have nothing to do with Islam or Islamic countries and find a way to be among the devoutest Muslims that you can ever find. This is astonishing.
Allah Subhaanah guides whom He wants the straight path and leads whom He wants astray. We should pity wrongdoers and then ourselves, and we should be deeply thankful to the Lord because without the will and mercy of Allah Subhaanah we could have been just like them..

Peace.
