Friday Prayer

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1
Narrated by Tariq ibn Shihab
Transmitted by Abu Dawud

The Prophet (Sal-allahu-aleihi-wassallam) said: The Friday prayer in congregation is a necessary duty for every Muslim, with four exceptions; a slave, a woman, a (young) boy, and a sick person.

2
Narrated by
Hafsah Ummul Mu'minin
Transmitted by Abu Dawud

The Prophet (Sal-allahu-aleihi-wassallam) said: It is necessary for every adult (person) to go for (saying) Friday (prayer), and for everyone who goes for Friday (prayer) washing is necessary.

3
Narrated by Al-Ja'd ad-Damri
Transmitted by Abu Dawud

The Prophet (Sal-allahu-aleihi-wassallam) said: He who leaves the Friday prayer (continuously) for three Friday on account of slackness, Allah will print a stamp on his heart.

4
Narrated by
AbuHurayrah
Transmitted by Sahih Bukhari

The Prophet (Sal-allahu-aleihi-wassallam) said, "When it is a Friday, the angels stand at the gate of the mosque and keep on writing the names of the persons coming to the mosque in succession according to their arrivals. The example of the one who enters the mosque in the earliest hour is that of one offering a camel (in sacrifice). The one coming next is like one offering a cow and then a ram and then a chicken and then an egg respectively. When the Imam comes out (for Jumua prayer) they (i.e. angels) fold their papers and listen to the Khutba." [Vol 2:#51]

5
Narrated by AbuHurayrah
Transmitted by Muslim

Allah's Messenger (Sal-allahu-aleihi-wassallam) said: He who took a bath and then came for Jumu'ah prayer and then prayed what was fixed for him, then kept silence till the Imam finished the sermon, and then prayed along with him, his sins between that time and the next Friday would be forgiven, and even of three days more.

6
Narrated by Anas ibn Malik
Transmitted by Abu Dawud

The Apostle of Allah (Sal-allahu-aleihi-wassallam) prohibited to sit on hips by erecting feet, sticking them to the stomach and holding them with hands on Friday while the imam is delivering the sermon.

7
Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As
Transmitted by Abu Dawud

The Prophet (Sal-allahu-aleihi-wassallam) said: Three types of people attend Friday prayer; One is present in a frivolous way and that is all he gets from it; another comes with a supplication, Allah may grant or refuse his request as He wishes; another is present silently and quietly with-out stepping over a Muslim or annoying anyone, and that is an atonement for his sins till the next Friday and three days more, the reason being that Allah, the Exalted, says: "He who does a good deed will have ten times as much"

8
Narrated by Jabir ibn Abdullah
Transmitted by Abu Dawud

The Prophet (Sal-allahu-aleihi-wassallam) said: Friday is divided into twelve hours. Amongst them there is an hour in which a Muslim does not ask Allah for anything but He gives it to him. So seek it in the last hour after the afternoon prayer.

a exception to the 4 exceptions is when a man is in debt with another man. And he has no way of paying back at the moment and he is ashamed to show his face he is excused from congregation. i'll have to find the hadith inshAllah

Sister are you sure of this? I never heard this before just wondering if there is a real sound hadith. The Salah (Prayer) has no excuse to be left in congregation for men except with a valid reason.

Salaam,

Tomorrow when we go to jummah prayer...let us pray for the ummahat. Let us wish for our hearts to be cleaned
It is Allah that wills us to the masjid. Let us be grateful that we can step into the home of Allah's angles and pray with fellow Muslims.
Let us strenghten our bond with Allah and let Him guide us..and let us not worry about who is not there...

As I live in a very small community and I am the chai maker..what I decided to do was make a lot of chai..when you make room more people attend...and they remain longer at the masjid...

InshaAllah, I will be able to take my sons to the masjid of my father...and there will be close to 500 people there...the joy of being with so many Muslims at one time is thrill for me...the power of 500 people supplicating to Allah together at one time....

Wel i can't say it is until inshAllah i find hadith, but debt is considered so serious that when someone is ashamed to not be able to pay it back it it was the one time to you can miss the congregation for jumah ( a apart from being sick , etc) but don't take my word for it until inshAllah i bring daliil!

:salam2:

aren't women excused from it too? or is it a misunderstanding of mine?

:wasalam:

wa alaykum salam

No, ukhti... you are correct.

Women do not have to pray Salaat al-Jumu’ah (Friday prayer). Ibn Qudaamah (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: “As regards women, there is no difference (among the scholars) concerning the fact that Jumu’ah is not obligatory for them.” (Al-Mughni ma’a al-Sharh al-Kabeer, 2/151). But if a woman prays Jumu’ah in the mosque, then she should pray two rak’ahs, just like the men. Ibn Hazm (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: “Jumu’ah is not obligatory for one who is weak because of sickness or who has another valid excuse, or for women, but if any of these people attend Jumu’ah, they should pray two rak’ahs.” (al-Muhallaa, 5/81). So if a woman goes to the mosque and prays Jumu’ah, this is good enough, and she does not have to pray Zuhr too. And Allaah knows best.

I also agree with that. Debt it not an excuse for a Muslim male to miss the congregation, if that is his only reason and intention.

I think that hadith was misinformed.
