But where did Maulana Jalaul-uddin Rumi write Romantic poetry?
Have you been to Konya, Turkey? Been there, done that, got arrested spent 1 1/2 hours in a Police Station, because I knocked OFF the big white turban from his huge grave (Turban is the size of 25 inch TV) !

heh um i cant tell if ure being sarcastic or not anymore actually...noway havnt been to turkey ever. ...all i know is that the dude was persian and he wrote waaay better than shakespeare...hey im NOT a SUFI....

Muslim Sufi Songs turned into Romance!

He wrote about the Love of Allah (SWT) & it is superb poetry. I am not a Sufi either but some of his stuff is out of this world. Orientilists have turned a lot of his poetry into Romance; which it is not!
Another one of these poets is Amir Khusroo (RA) and bollywood have taken his songs which he wrote about Allah (SWT) & turned them into love-songs:astag: like

yeah rumi is one of my fave poets and i wish i had the time to study him proper, stuff like sheakespear is just forced down ure throat at school but when compared to Rumi its just flops.

I heard the song in Pakistan and then in UK a revert Sister spoke about it to me; she said that she used to watch Bollywood Stuff on TV (late in the nights)...She was welsh and wanted to know where to buy Asian clothes in Cardiff!
She was more Asian then Asians!
Then at work a whole bunch of English people went to see this movie, now these are middle-class people/couples;
Then I heard about it on Radio-5-Live (BBC)
so I was shocked!
