I've never really written poems before, but 2 weeks ago, someone i knew from college died and this made me think about death. Then I wrote the following 2 poems. They may not be as good as the others here but bear in mind it is my first attempt.
My Journey's End has arrived,
From life i have been deprived,
But dont take this as a note of complaint,
An unwanted fate this certainly aint,
In my Creator i put my trust,
And on my coffin are layers of dust,
But I am high up above the sky,
With the Angels I do fly,
Looking down on you from up above,
Waiting for the moment I'll meet you my love
Here I lie, 6 foot under,
Nothing to do, But time to wonder,
What kind of life did i live?
What did i take and what did i give?
Was I fair in all that I done?
Mistakes I regret now time is gone,
My life, my future, what did it hold?
I'll never know as now its gone cold
