The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin greeting participants of the 49th International Al-Quran Reciters Assembly yesterday at the Putra World Trade Centre while the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Nur Zahirah looks on.
More than 60 participants from 44 countries will take part in the week-long event which was opened by the King.
Last nite ceremony,2 qari & 1 qariah recites are from Sri Lanka,Philipines & Uzbekistan.
Tunku ABdul Rahman Putra Al Haj (1st prime minister-AlMarhum) is a founder of International Al quran Reciters Assembly since 1961.he wants the Assembly program will be a year event of the country.(Malaysia Independence 1957)
Last year best reciters- En. Hossein Saeid Rostami Tabrizy from Iran.Qariah is Muslimah Sainab Abdulromee from Thailand
