Assalamu'alaykum,
There’s this news report I saw yesterday on Al Jazeera but I can't find it online to put it here, but basically it was a report in which there is this little boy who got seperated and trapped from his family in the flood water in Pakistan, he was surrounded by the water, still able to breathe somehow and he survived that way for 24 hours.
His family were able to eventually get him out, but the little boy (I can’t remember his name!) who previously had been a normal 10 year old, is now so traumatised, he does not eat or talk, and his family have had to tie thick bandages around his hands to stop him scratching himself to death, he appears to be insane due to the trauma of the experience.
I hope the report appears online soon and I'll put it here if/when it does. In all honesty the little boy will haunt you (as he is haunting me), and then on top of that he is one of hundreds and thousands of children affected by the floods.
