Let us discusse how can Islam enlighten hearts and soften them in a wonderful way showing the way for those who seek eternal happiness InshaAllah. :salah:

Aapa

Mirajmom
Assalaam walaikum,

We could write a book and some on this subject.

Islam teaches us to practice sabr. I use the word practice. We need to exercise patience. It is an active verb. It requires discipline and it requires a firmness of the heart.
When we are afflicted with the trials of life and we all are in one way or the other the practice of sabr becomes our strenght. We make salat to ask for help. We do not rush into actions. We contemplate our decisions. We make additional prayers for guidance. We read more of the Holy Quran. We seek forgivness from rash judgements.
How soft our hearts become for Allah subhana talla to do as He will with us. As the Prophet, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, told us our hearts are between the fingers of Allah, so we yield to His Purpose.
As we demonstrate our need of Our Rabb, He sends us blessings. And we benefit. We see a larger picture..the sense of urgency is dissipated. The whisperings of the evil one are no longer heard.

Salam aleikum wa rahmatulahy wa barakatuh,

Endure, vie with each other in endurance, and continue your relation with God (3:199):

Be steadfast in performing your religious duties, endure whatever displeasing thing happens to you, and maintain your love of God and desire to meet with Him. Or, be steadfast in fulfilling all your responsibilities for the sake of God and to please Him, and endure the difficulty of always being aware of His constant supervision of you and feeling His omnipresence. Or, be steadfast in following the Straight Path without any deviation, even when Divine bounties pour out onto you. Resolve to endure all difficulties and hardships, and maintain your connection or adherence to God whatever happens to you.

In order to be sustenance for man, a source of strength for his knees, a “light” for his eyes, and a substance for the maintenance of his life, a grain of wheat must be buried in the bosom of the earth, germinate under it, and grow to emerge into the air. It must come into the air after a fierce struggle with the earth, and then be sown and threshed, and ground in a mill. After that, it must be kneaded, baked in an oven, and, finally, chewed by teeth, sent into the stomach, and digested.

To attain true humanity, each individual must be “sieved” or “distilled” many times to discover his or her true essence. Otherwise, the ability to develop one’s potential to its fullest, to be truly human, is not possible:

It is expected of God’s servant to suffer,
And of an aloe wood to burn.

Patience is an essential and most important dimension of servanthood to God, and is crowned with resignation, the highest spiritual rank in the sight of God, to whatever God has destined.

Wa aleikum salam dear sister,

Islam is the religion that is more than a religion; it is the religion that is a complete way of life. Nothing is too small or too big to be covered by the teachings of Islam. Rejoice and be happy, remain positive and be at peace. This is what Islam teaches us, through the Quran and the authentic teachings of Prophet Muhammad, may God praise him. Every single one of God’s commandments aims to bring happiness to the individual. This applies in all aspects of life, worship, economics, and society.

Whoever works righteousness - whether male or female - while he (or she) is a true believer verily, to him We will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and We shall pay them certainly a reward in proportion to the best of what they used to do (i.e. Paradise in the Hereafter).” (Quran 16:97)

Perfect happiness will only be available to us if we spend life everlasting in Paradise. It is only there that we will find total peace, tranquillity and security. It is only there that we will be free of the fear, anxiety and pain that are part of the human condition. However the guidelines provided by Islam allow us, imperfect humans, to seek happiness in this world. The key to being happy in this world and the next is seeking the pleasure of God, and worshipping Him, without associating partners with Him.

And of them there are some who say: “Our Lord! Give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the torment of the Fire!” (Quran 2:201)

Ameen,

True sister , such teachings can cure sick hearts, purify souls, lift spirits. Learning Islam and practicing it with sincerity is just like entering a beautiful bright pure world were everything is done with pure intention and goodwill .

finding light

Ya Rab! Forgive me..
For me, I will speak from my experience. I am not too knowledgable but am learning slowly day by day, Alhamdulillah!
I was very lost for a long time. I always called myself a Muslim but really I wasnt practicing. But somewhere inside I felt Allah always with me.
Recently I "woke up" and now mashallah I am praying more, I am seeing Islam in everything that I do and the feeling is unexplainable. My behaviour has changed without me knowing it, ive become quieter, more sensitive (which isnt good for a woman!), more conscious of my actions. im not using bad language, not losing my temper... all im saying is that i can actually FEEL a change and i FEEL Allah... (ive said this a lot on TTI :p)
For me this is my slow enlightenment :)
ALHAMDULILLAH :)

Quran calls humans to think and understand their position in this life:

﴿يأَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اذْكُرُواْ نِعْمَةَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ هَلْ مِنْ خَـلِقٍ غَيْرُ اللَّهِ يَرْزُقُكُمْ مِّنَ السَّمَآءِ وَالاٌّرْضِ لاَ إِلَـهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ فَأَنَّى تُؤْفَكُونَ ﴾

(3. O mankind! Remember the grace of Allah upon you! Is there any creator other than Allah who provides for you from the sky (rain) and the earth La ilaha illa Huwa. How then are you turning away (from Him))

Surat fatir

When man knows his creator and understand that all that he is enjoying is from Allah his attitude in life will change , he will feel grateful towards Allah subhanahu wa taala. this gratefulness is a cure for hearts.
