Assalamu Alaykum,

Congratulations and may Allah SWT accept your fasting insha'Allah. This is kind of a good practice for you since Ramadan is here, alhamduillah.

May Allah swt accept your fasts and make it easy for you. Ameen

And Congratulations on your first fast. :D People usually do a half day fast and you did a full one in the summer (the day is longer). It's a great feat and you should be proud. :)

You have our support. :)

Walaikumsalaam waa rahmatullahi waa barakatahu.. :)

Can I know what is the length of day in summer? I am curious to know because I did not have experienced any summer in my whole life.

As salamo alaikome....

The adhan for the Fajr prayer went off at 5:11am and I woke up......performed wudu and said my Fajr prayer then I ate something and then I did ghusl and prayed 2 additional rakah for beginning my fast. I began the fast probably was 5:45am just before the sun rose. The fast was over at 9:15pm just after praying my Maghrib prayer. I prayed first then I ate. So basically I fasted 16 hours altogether from 5:30am until 9:30pm. I am very proud of myself for being able to do it.

Masha'Allah.. 16 hours for your first fast !.. Sister, you should be proud. Well done !

As ramadaan aproaches, the day will get a bit more shorter so that's a plus. :D

I can imagine that it's a very special day for you that you are going to cherish for sometime to come. :)

I did it for our beloved prophet (sal allahu alayhi wa salam) because I never did anything for him before.

Not to make a big deal out of it but I heard that when you break the fast and you pray dua most of the time the dua is answered so I made it a point to pray dua for EVERYONE in this thread who supported me during my fast.

I just want to tell you all how very special you are to me and I pray that Allah will accept my fast especially if he answers my dua for all of YOU my brothers and sisters in Islam.

it is makruh sis, u should break fast first with simple lite meal/drink then u go pray. It is not good to delay breaking fast coz u also cant focus in pray with empty stomach. Anyway Mashallah u are amazing sis... u really made it:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

Yes I know I did the whole thing backwards and found out AFTER it was all over but I still feel pretty good for just DOING it at all!!!!

I learned that I am supposed to eat the meal in the morning BEFORE the Fajr adhan and not afterwards like I did and then to break the fast Im supposed to eat the food BEFORE to pray and AFTER the Maghrib adhan but Im just learning everything and even though I am a bit backwards I think Allah will forgive me since it was my first time and really I had no idea what I was doing to begin with.

Besides my mother always told me I was BORN backwards (I was a breech baby.....meaning I was born feet first instead of head first like normal babies hahahahahaha so this is typical for me.........everything backwards!!!).
