OPERATION DEATH

’Twas early in the morning at four. When death knocked upon a bedroom door.
”Who is there?” the sleeping one cried. ”I’m Azrael (Malak al-Maut ), let me inside.”

At once, the man began to shiver, as one sweating in deadly fever,
he shouted to his sleeping wife, ”Don’t let him take away my life.”

”Please go away, O Angel of Death! Leave me alone, I’m not ready yet.
My family on me depend, give me a chance, O please prepense!”

The Angel knocked again and again, ”Friend! I’ll take your life without a pain,
’Tis your soul Allah require, I come not with my own desire.

Bewildered, the man began to cry, ”O Angel! I’m so afraid to die
I’ll give you gold and be your slave, don’t send me to the unlit grave.”

”Let me in, O Friend!” the Angel said, ”Open the door, get up from your bed.
If you do not allow me in,I will walk through it, like a Jinn.”

The man held a gun in his right hand, ready to defy the Angel’s stand,
”I’ll point my gun, towards your head. You dare come in, I’ll shoot you dead.”

By now, the Angel was in the room, Saying, “O Friend! prepare for your doom.
Foolish man, Angels never die, Put down your gun and do not sigh.”

”Why are you afraid! Tell me O man, to die according to Allah’s plan?
>Come, smile at me, do not be grim, be happy to return to Him.”
”O Angel! I bow my head in shame, I had no time to take Allah’s name.

From morn till dusk I made my wealth, not even caring for my health.”
”Allah’s commands I never obeyed nor five times a day I ever prayed.
A Ramadan came and Ramadan went but no time had I to repent.”

”The Haj was already fard on me But I would not part with my money. All
charities I did ignore taking usury more and more.”

”Sometimes I sipped my favorite wine with flirting women I sat to dine. O
Angel! I appeal to you spare my life for a year or two.”

”The Laws of Qur’an I will obey, I’ll begin Salat this very day. My Fast
and Haj, I will complete, and keep away from self conceit.”

”I will refrain from usury, and give all my wealth to charity, wine and
wenches I will detest, Allah’s oneness I will attest.”

”We Angels do what Allah demands, we cannot go against His commands
Death is ordained for everyone, father, mother, daughter or son.”
”I’m afraid, this moment is your last, now be reminded, of your past.
>I do understand your fears but it is now too late for tears.”

”You lived in this world, two score and more, Never did you, your people
adore. Your parents, you did not obey, hungry beggars, you turned away.”

”Your two ill-gotten, female offsprings, in night-clubs, for livelihood
they sing. Instead of making more Muslims, you made your children
non-Muslims.”

”You ignored the Mu’athin’s Athaan, nor did you read the Holy Qur’an.
Breaking promises all your life, backbiting friends, and causing strife.”

”From hoarded goods, great profits you made, and your poor workers, you
underpaid. Horses and cards were your leisure, money-making was your
pleasure.”

”You ate vitamins and grew more fat, with the very sick, you never sat. A
pint of blood you never gave, which could a little baby save.”

”O human, you have done enough wrong, you bought good properties for a
song. When the farmers appealed to you, you did not have mercy, ‘tis >true.”

”Paradise for you? I cannot tell, undoubtedly you will dwell in hell.
There’s no time for you to repent, I’ll take your soul for which I’m sent.”

The ending, however, is very sad. Eventually the man became mad.
With a cry, he jumped out of bed. And suddenly, he fell down dead.

O Reader! take a moral from here, you never know, your end may be near.
Change your living and make amends, for heaven, on your deeds depends.

This poem I heard in a song about The Prophet Yeshua (PBUH) I can't say which came first. The Christian or Muslim version. This is from the above linked site as well.

THE VISIT

IF THE PROPHET ()* VISITED YOU,
JUST FOR A DAY OR TWO,
IF HE CAME UNEXPECTEDLY,
I WONDER WHAT YOU WOULD DO.
OH, I KNOW, YOU'D GIVE HIM YOUR NICEST ROOM,
TO SUCH AN HONOURED GUEST;
AND ALL THE FOOD YOU'D SERVE HIM,
WOULD BE THE VERY BEST.
AND, YOU WOULD KEEP ASSURING HIM,
YOU ARE GLAD TO HAVE HIM THERE,
THAT SERVING HIM IN YOUR HOME,
IS JOY BEYOND COMPARE.
BUT... WHEN YOU SAW HIM COMING,
WOULD YOU MEET HIM AT THE DOOR.
WITH ARMS OUTSTRETCHED IN WELCOME,
TO YOUR VISITOR?
OR...WOULD YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR CLOTHES,
BEFORE YOU LET HIM IN?
OR HIDE SOME MAGAZINES AND PUT,
THE QURAN WHERE THEY HAD BEEN?
WOULD YOU STILL WATCH FORBIDDEN MOVIES,
ON YOUR TV SET?
OR WOULD YOU RUSH TO SWITCH IT OFF,
BEFORE HE GETS UPSET?
WOULD YOU TURN OFF THE RADIO,
AND HOPE HE HADN'T HEARD?
AND HOPE HE HADN'T UTTERED,
THE LAST LOUD, HASTY WORD?
WOULD YOU HIDE YOUR WORDLY MUSIC,
AND INSTEAD TAKE HADITH BOOKS OUT?
COULD YOU LET HIM WALK RIGHT IN,
OR WOULD YOU RUSH ABOUT?
AND, I WONDER... IF THE PROPHET SPENT,
A DAY OR TWO WITH YOU,
WOULD YOU GO RIGHT ON DOING THE THINGS,
YOU ALWAYS DO?
WOULD YOU GO RIGHT ON SAYING THE THINGS,
YOU ALWAYS SAY?
WOULD LIFE FOR YOU CONTINUE,
AS IT DOES FROM DAY TO DAY?
WOULD YOU KEEP UP EACH AND EVERY PRAYER,
WITHOUT PUTTING ON A FROWN?
AND WOULD YOU ALWAYS JUMP UP EARLY,
FOR PRAYERS AT DAWN?
WOULD YOU SING THE SONGS YOU ALWAYS SING,
AND READ THE BOOKS YOU READ?
AND LET HIM KNOW THE THINGS ON WHICH,
YOUR MIND AND SPIRIT FEED?
WOULD YOU TAKE THE PROPHET WITH YOU,
EVERYWHERE YOU PLAN TO GO?
OR WOULD YOU, MAYBE, CHANGE YOUR PLANS,
JUST FOR A DAY OR SO?
WOULD YOU BE GLAD TO HAVE HIM MEET,
YOUR VERY CLOSEST FRIENDS?
OR WOULD YOU HOPE THEY'D STAY AWAY,
UNTIL HIS VISIT ENDS?
WOULD YOU BE GLAD TO HAVE HIM STAY,
FOREVER ON AND ON?
OR WOULD SIGH WITH GREAT RELIEF,
WHEN HE AT LEAST WAS GONE?
IT MIGHT BE INTRESTING TO KNOW,
THE THINGS THAT YOU WOULD DO,
IF THE PROPHET MOHAMMAD ,
IN PERSON CAME,
TO SPEND SOME TIME WITH YOU.

IF I KNEW

If I knew it would be the last time
that I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly
and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.

If I knew it would be the last time
that I see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss
and call you back for one more

If I knew it would be the last time
I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word,
so I could play them back day after day.

If I knew it would be the last time,
I could spare an extra minute or two
to stop and say "I love you,"
instead of assuming, you would know I do.

If I knew it would be the last time
I would be there to share your day,
well I'm sure you'll have so many more,
so I can let just this one slip away.

For surely there's always tomorrow
to make up for an oversight,
and we always get a second chance
to make everything right.

There will always be another day
to say our "I love you's",
And certainly there's another chance
to say our "Anything I can do's?"

But just in case I might be wrong,
and today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you
and I hope we never forget,

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance you get
to hold your loved one tight.

So if you're waiting for tomorrow,
why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes,
you'll surely regret the day,

That you didn't take that extra time
for a smile, a hug, or a kiss
and you were too busy to grant someone,
what turned out to be their one last wish.

So hold your loved ones close today,
whisper in their ear,
Tell them how much you love them
and that you'll always hold them dear,

Take time to say "I'm sorry," "please forgive me," "thank you", "it's okay" or "I love you".
And if tomorrow never comes,
you'll have no regrets about today.

Salem katieanneb,

Great minds think alike and the heart of Mulsims are directed by Allah. I never knew a man who knowing he was going to die said he wishes he had worked more time, had more things, or had watched more TV. I have personally heard individuals started a sentence with "I haven't always done all I could..." "There are many things that I regret..." Life is but a blink.
