I was doing dawaa to a women just the other day, I was telling her about the women modesty in Islam.
So i told her that a women should cover her body from head to ankle very important this prevents her from lustful looks and preverse her beauty and modesty.

She told me she works in a field, and she wud become really hot if she wore pants that long, she has to do alot of stuff and in summer when the temperature can get around 40-50 C it will be really hard for her to be in pants like that, i sugguest maybe she can wear a skirt (you know the one i see many arabic women wear up to their feet), but she said she cant cuz she has to run around alot its part of her field research and she will trip in that or something, Anywayz she asked if she could wear long shorts, that covered up to her calf muscle so will be below her knee, My 1st reaction was NO but im not sure kinda she asked me why and at that time i said cuz thats still lust for many men and to that she replied than some men have other weird lusts as well?

Could sisters please help me answer her, like is it not allowed to wear those long shorts (w/e they are called), Im guessing probably not then how do you deal with really hot weather and that type of work what is permited and whats not?

Thank you for the help

Assalamu Allaicomu dear brother

Mashallah dear brother that you have started giving Dawah, may Alah subhan we teal reword you

Regarding your question brother, you have answered correctly to our sister in Islam. It is NOT alowed to wear long shorts, because than that would not be hijab it will be some now fashion style, may Allah protect us all.
I know by my selfe how is hard to waer hijab in summer but Alhamdulilah for the sake of Allah I resist.
Inshallah you can advice her to wear long and loose pants which will not show shape of her Alhamdulillah(althought it would be better that she wear long scirts),and that she chose not so much dark colors but still not open and transaprtent which will atract looks Inshallah.
You should also remander her brother that beside covering her head with scarf, and wearing long clothes, her foots need to be cover too and they can not be seen Inshallah.

When is too much hot weather she should drink a loot of water, and remande her brother on the Day of Judgment and how it will be hot than Inshallah, and that she sould wear hijab to please Allah does not metter how much it may be hard.

I hope Inshallah I could help you somehow brother

May Allah bless you dear brother and I hope Inshallah our sister in Islam will start wearing hijab soon.:tti_sister:

The pants she could mean either *capris* or *bermudas*..and they are inappropriate as you told her..because the longest type covers the leg down to the mid-calf..and that doesn't fit the rules of hijab

If she is worried about her work..the current trends can help with her stocking up on a couple of pants which she can wear..called *wide-leg pants*..many are so wide they practically look like skirts..so she can have the modest look of a skirt with the practicality of pants...on top of the pants she can wear long sleeve tunics..tunics are normally long (some reach below the knee!)..and that will help her with more modesty...

If she's worried about the heat..she can ask any sales-assistant in the stores she visits to point out to her their lines of clothing with *breathable-fabrics* (i.e. cotton..coolmax..wickaways..supplex..etc.) available in tops and bottoms..or she can just walk around the store and "feel" the different fabrics or read the tags to make sure that what she's buying is breathable..

she needs to keep in mind that the clothes have to be loose (1 or 2 sizes bigger will help with this) and cannot be see-through or of thin fabric..and does not have colors or designs which will attract attention (i.e. writings..glitter..rhinestones..etc.)

Hope I helped you out akhi..and inshallah you will earn this lady's ajer :)

Oh akhi..believe me some women are so busy or do not enjoy shopping so much that they don't know the *specifics* either..so that's not something exclusive of men :)...that's why I wrote the names of things..that way even if she knows..things will be narrowed down for her so she won't waste too much time

I'm so happy that I helped you akhi..and you are surely welcome anytime
