Sister XO-Gold
Bismillaah.
Assalaamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh.
Hope your well uktie.
I read your question above. Ma sha Allaah good question.
First of all for the person who said to you --> ''you could do anything
because it doesn't say in the Qur'an that you cant do it''.
That is totally wrong. Reason being sister is that Allaah may not state
something in the Qur'an but He can reveal His order or prohibition through
the Prophet

. As He (The Most High) stated in the Qu'ran:
''And Whatsoever the Messenger (Muhammad

) gives you
take it; and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it).
[Surah Al-Hashr:V:7]
Sis have a look at this hadeeth. Narrated by 'Alqamah: 'Abdullah
(bin Mas'ud) said. ''Allaah curses those ladies who practise tatooing
and those who get themselves tatooed, and those ladies who get their
hair removed from their eyebrows abd faces except the beard and
moustache, and those who make artificial spaces between their teeth
in order to look more beautiful whereby they change Allaah's creation.''
His saying reached a lady from banu Asad, called Umm Ya'qub,
who came (to A'Abdullah) and said, '' I have come to know that you
have cursed such and such (ladies)?'' He replied, ''Why should i not
curse those whom Allaah's messenger

has cursed and who are
(cursed) in Allaah's Book!'' Umm Ya'qub said, ''I have read the whole
Qur'an, but I did not find in it what you say.'' He said, verily, if you
read it (i.e.the Qur'an), you have found it. Didn't you read:
''And whatsoever the messenger (Muhammad

) gives you, take it
and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it).'' (V.59:7)
She replied ''Yes, I did.'' He said, Verily, Allaah's messenger
forbade such things.'' She said, ''But I see your wife doing these things?''
He said, ''Go and watch her.'' She went and watched her but could not
see anything in support of her statement. On that he said,
''If my wife was as you thought, I would not keep her in my company
(i.e., I would divorce her).'' [Sahih Al-Bukhari, 6/4886 (O.P.408)]
So you see sister the verse and the hadeeth are linked together as they
support one another. You can find this hadeeth also in the The Noble
Qur'an (translated english) in the footnote of [Surah Hashr:V.7].
So whomsoever told you regarding removing the hair from the eyebrow
---> Quote > ''you could do anything because it doesn't say in the
Qur'an that you cant do it''. This is totally wrong sis.
And Allaah knows Best!
As for not using metal on the body then one has to provide proof for
this. As in Islaam everything is allowed unless there is a text from the
Qur'an or Sunnah saying else wise. We do not go by our
own thinking or understanding making the halal haram and vice versa.
I hope you can understand the point i'm trying to make here sis,
in sha Allaah. So those people when they tell you that you can't
do this or you can't do that, they need to give you proof from either
the Qur'an or the Sunnah, otherwise they should refrain from speaking
without sure knowledge.
So as from the hadeeth i'm sure you have come to know that removing
the hair from the eyebrow is not allowed. Shaikh ibn Jibreen said:
''It is not allowed to remove some of the eyebrow hairs, nor shave
them off,nor trim them, nor pluck them, even if the husban is pleased
with that. It is not a beautification act. Instead, it is changing the
creation of Allaah and Allaah is the best of creators''.
You can find this fatwah in the book called Islamic Fatwah Regarding
Women.Compiled by Muhammad bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Musnad.
Page 278 - Q.257.
Some of our ullamah have said that the hair in between (the joining hair)
--> she can remove enough of those hair to separate the eyebrows
as this excess of hair would have impact on her natural beauty.
As sometimes that some sisters have a lot of hair on the eyebrows
such as they seem to REALLY join each other over the nose,
not joining in the imagination of the sister but in reality!
To remove the hair from the upper lip is allowed, as some of the scholars
have said. and Allah know Best.
The main point in all this is not to do anything by vanity but only
do when there is a strong need and a cause. Wallahu 'Alam.
May Allaah forgive me if i have said anything wrong, aameen.
Take care sister.
was-salaamu 'alaykum.
