Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Maryam
Then We shall pluck out from every sect whichever of them was most stubborn in rebellion to the Beneficent. (69) And surely We are best aware of those most worthy to be burned therein. (70) There is not one of you but shall approach it. That is a fixed ordinance of thy Lord. (71) Then We shall rescue those who kept from evil, and leave the evil-doers crouching there. (72)

Al-Baqara
This is the Scripture whereof there is no doubt, a guidance unto those who ward off (evil). (2) Who believe in the Unseen, and establish worship, and spend of that We have bestowed upon them; (3) And who believe in that which is revealed unto thee (Muhammad) and that which was revealed before thee, and are certain of the Hereafter. (4)

As a new revert to Islam it is so very hard to know if what is called Islam is Islam.

Does the Sirat exist?

Are there eight gates (doors) to Jannah?

What is a good PDF book to explain Masih al Dajjal and Yawm al Quiyamsl and other eschatology concepts of Islam ?

As Salamu 'Alaykum,

Brother Ayman1, Shukran for answering my questions. I enjoy watching various YouTube videos and there were several on the Sirat and the '"eight" doors of Jannah."' I am learning Arabic from Yesuf Estes's videos Arabic in English and Dr Ibrahim Surty's videos "Qur'anic Arabic Learning.. There were also eight or so videos on The Doors of Jannah and Sirat. I am reading some books on Authentic Hadith and of course I read and listen to AL QUR'AN daily.

I spent decades learning Christian Theology Proper, Christology, Soteriology, Eschatology, Angelology. Demonology, Theological Anthropology, Dispensationalism, Pneumotology, Bibliology, Covenant Theology, Ecclesiology, Harmatiology, Ethics, etc; not to mention, all of the various Christian Schools of Philosophy that I could find and some Jewish Schools of Religious Philosophy.

Gradually, I discarded what I knew to be false and studied what I believed to be true. Consequently, I hope to be able to extrapolate the true and relevant information which I learned to my understanding of Islam. I compare what I know with what I am learning from Al Qur'an and Authentic Hadith.

So, again Shukran.

There is this book called Al-Bidaya Wa An-Nihaya,(The Beginning & The End ) by Ibn Kathir's is a classic work by the Sunni scholar Ibn Kathir. It is considered to be one of the most authoritative sources on Islamic history. A unique aspect of the book is that it not only deals with past events, but also speculates about future events mentioned by Muhammad (PEACE BE UPON HIM). The different volumes of the book deal with the beginning of creation and the sending of man upon the earth according to Islam, the lives of the Prophets of Islam, and the times of the Sahaba (Muhammad's companions) up to the 8th century. The last volume records predictions of future events such as signs of the day of judgment (Qiyamah) - when Muslims believe people enter Jannah (paradise) or Jahannam (hell).

There in you will find (Signs, Isa, Mahdi, Dajjal, Gog, Magog} £6.95 . check also this these great scholars Ibn Taymiyyah and his student Ibn ul Qayyim one of my favourite scholar and ibl ul Qayyims student ibn kathir and you will love what you read
and i highly recomend that you to check Tafsir.com Tafsir Ibn Kathir . this is translation of QURAN in english supported by hadith and verses that are similar to that verse that you want its mening and you will benefit from this. MAY ALLAH AZA WAJALLAH GRANT THEM JANNAH ALL THREE AND ALL THE TRUE BELIEVERS.

May ALLAH AZA WA JALLAH INCREASE YOUR KNOWLEDGE.

The Prophet (sal) said 'None of you will have faith till he wishes for his brother (muslim) what he likes for himself' - narrated by Anas (Bukhari)

Actually, one of the brothers on this site sent me several books of which one was UNDERSTANDING ISLAM by Jerald F. Dirks which I am starting to read today. What I want to do is solidify my understanding of Islamic Beliefs so I can be a true Muslim. My biggest problem so far is my "mouth." Literally, in that I am slow at learning proper articulation of Arabic and because of my life and age have great difficult with the Dental Letters. Secondly, I talk too much and listen too little. And, figuratively, I type too much in an attempt to learn that of which I speak. (It seems that when I phrase something in my own "voice", I remember it better.) :0
