Salam alykum wa rahmatulahi wa barkatu

I'm sure most of you where you live .. you must have a masjid / prayer area next to your house or school etc.

That Masjid must be having someone who is cleaning / maintaining it.

Basically you have to go to that cleaner and beautifully explain to him that the work he is doing is a really highly rewarding work.

tell the cleaner

to make this "neya" firmly in his heart ..

that O Allah I clean this Masjid/prayer room for you only so that I get the reward of every single person who prays here/reads quran /memorises the Quran . ( every good deed done in the masjid )

Now what happens is that since you gave the worker this idea and made sure he does this..

..you get the Copy of all the good deeds he gets..

... do this with all the Masjids in the areas where you live and take some friends get a car and conquer every masjid in all areas you can get to ... and get MASSIVE REWARD INSHALLAH !!

hmm interesting post. Sadly I don't have many mosques or Islamic centers in my neighborhood. Sometimes I wished I lived in a more ''pro-Muslim'' place.

why not we ourselves start helping that worker..?? After all thats HOUSE OF ALLAH..!!! And I assume this reward would be greater than the one you mentioned.

you get the reward of "intention" made by the "workers"

can you work in 50 masajids in a day?

but if you go to 50 workers working in 50 different masajid/prayer rooms etc... explain them the benefit of making the "intention" ( mentioned above ) ...

you will be doing alot good for them.. and for yourself

..you get the Copy of all the good deeds he gets.. as it was you who taught him the intention..

i have seen this alot ...most of the cleaners are working for reasons other then for Allah..

and yes you can help in masjids yourselves + do the above.

i have talked with some knowledgeable people about this..and they too are fascinated by this idea.

try it dear brother/sister..

inshallah it will be of great benefit to you.

That's a good idea. Another good idea is if you buy soaps/handwashes etc. for your mosque wudhu/sink area, with the intention for other people to use them to keep clean (cleanliness is half of deen), then you'll get reward for each person who uses them.

Masha Allah, what a great post. I hope and pray that one day, I can do that and clean our masjid one day.

go the cleaner in your masjid ...
tell him to clean the masjid for the pleasure of Allah and that the reason behind his efforts with clean/maintain the masjid is basically to get the entire reward of every good that happens in the masjid including prayers, reading Quran, the dua people make in the masjid , them thanking Allah , repenting etc.. ( everything good )

now because you taught this intention to the cleaner and because it was your idea... you get the copy of the good deeds the cleaner is getting which is everything happing in the masjid.

subhanallah see what i mean ...

Bukhari :: Book 1 :: Volume 1 :: Hadith 1
Narrated 'Umar bin Al-Khattab:

I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "The reward of deeds depends upon the intentions and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended. So whoever emigrated for worldly benefits or for a woman to marry, his emigration was for what he emigrated for."

another example

when you feed a muslim who is pious for the pleasure of Allah

you can make the intention ( neya) with Allah is that ..

O Allah i fed him. the good deeds he will do after getting energy from my food... I want a photocopy of all those good deeds.

Or when you give charity for making a masjid

O Allah I spend money on your house simply because i want to get a copy of EVERY good deeds that Happens in it

Subhanallah i hope that you all understand this.

Ibnul Qayyim –(rahimahullaah) – said, "Deeds without sincerity are like a traveler who carries in his water-jug dirt. The carrying of it burdens him and it brings no benefit."

One can ACHIEVE REALLY HIGH |Rewards just with his intentions...

i understand what your saying but isnt that cheating?

like doing something for rewards and asking Allah for a copy of the rewards others get.

arent our intentions meant to be just and all for Allahs sake and rely on him to give us the right reward and he knows what reward is best for us rather than we say of Allah we did this, so now you should give us that.

this being the work or the compliments, and that being the reward / copy of other people rewards.

im so sorry but thats what it sounds like to me.

i had a sheikh come to my house to do rukiyah on me. he came for a few months once a week. i had to prepare dinner for him. i did this from my heart, i was sick, had no energy and kept fainting, but what kept me going was when the shiekh told my husband 'i have never tasted food like that in my life, your wife is mashallah a great cook she cooks better than those in lebanon'. that compliment incouraged me to do more because he was happy. and i wanted to make him happy because he made me and my husband happy when he offered rukiyah and did not accept money for it he kept saying its for the sake of Allah.

all my intention was to do this for the sake of Allah and he will reward me and cure me. i will inshallah be rewarded. and kept doing it for that intention.

not once i asked Allah to give me the rewards of what he will get for reading rokiyah on me or for the energy he got after. i felt that was selfish, im doing good and doing it for a reason not to seek a copy of the sheikhs rewards. he works harder than me, i dont deserve a copy of his rewards.

its not fair for someone to work so hard, so so so hard, and then when someone comes and says thankyou to that person behind his back asks allah for a copy of his reward. im so sorry but that really upsets me. even if telling someone what to say so they can get reward, you shouldnt then go and ask allah oh i told this person to make dua to you and thank you so give me a copy of his rewards. come on, how many of us on this site gave people advice, and posted lectures, and dua's, tafseer etc, is it right for us to say 'oh allah, now you have to reward me for every person that follows what i told them' no, allah will reward you wether you tell him or not. my point is, we all put these posts, to help each other, to embrace islam, to send our message etc, for the sake of Allah. we ask for him to reward us greatly, and that should be it.

im so sorry, this is how i understood this thread, im asking for you to forgive me and im asking for you to help me understand if im wrong. please do not be angry or upset with me. teach me what you really mean because its confusing.

when people read things, they all understand it differently, i explained how i understood it, please do not be mad at me, please kindly explain what its meant to mean

how about instead of asking Allah for a copy peoples rewards just after complimenting them or asking them to make dua, how about we do what they are doing, how about, we work hard like they are.

why should i go to the mosque and tell the cleaner thankyou and advise them of the dua they should say and then behind their back seek their a copy of their rewards too if rewards were that easy to get, then cleaners wouldnt feel special cleaning mosques since others are taking a copy of their reward and they are not doing cleaning, how about we just all compliment people and do know work.

how about compliment those who pray and seek reward for the compliment and not pray. how about we do this.
no no no, i dont feel religion is like that. thats not fair, people work while others get a copy of their rewards after saying a compliment. who would feel happy to work again if they found out.

You just taught someone good for the pleasure of Allah. you just gave him a direction to do good...

yes you will get a COPY of the good he does as long as you are advice people for the pleasure of Allah!!

below is evidence

Muslim :: Book 20 : Hadith 4665
It has been narrated on the authority of Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari who said: A man came to the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) and said: My riding beast has been killed, so give me some animal to ride upon. He (the Holy Prophet) said: I have none with me. A man said: Messenger of Allah, I can guide him to one who will provide him with a riding beast. The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: One who guides to something good has a reward similar to that of its doer

This is enough proof ..and the matter is cleared Alhumdulillah

.. now go hunt some reward *smilie*

indeed we must thank them, advise them, tell them the dua available for them, the rewards they will inshallah get for their work, kind words etc, but do this because its the right thing to do, not to seek their rewards. make intention that you want to be nice to them, help them, work together with them, do this for Allahs sake, because you love allah and you want to work for him and he will give you great rewards inshallah. more than what you think.

make sure your intention is pure, dont do something for the sake of Allah but really your doing it to get the reward. Its upto him to reward you. so lets make our intention for good reasons and only to Allah.

i dont cook and clean and raise my kids to get rewards, thats not my purpose, my purpose is the raise my kids to the best of my ability and protect them, teach them, so they can teach their kids, and their kids teach their kids and so forte, in this regard, i will inshallah get rewards for my work, but i do not work just for the rewards. i work to please Allah, whether or he gives me rewards or not, as long as he is pleased with me.

i'll do anything for Allah even if no reward is available. i'll do anything Allah wants me to. i owe Allah so much, we all do. we need rewards, but lets earn them, lets help people, lets work hard to get our own rewards and make intention everything we do is for Allah, whatever he gives us in return is upto him and we are pleased inshallah with it.

there was a time when i use to always in my dua ask allah to grant me the highest rank in jannah, as i heard a sheikh tell us to always ask for this.
i told my husband one day, do i deserve to enter the highest rank of jannah, what good do i do, im not perfect, i have wrong and great deeds, i love islam and follow it strickly but still have wrong, there are more pious and religious people than me, they are the ones who deserve the highest rank of jannah, i told my husband, what do we do for allah, i just cook, clean and raise my kids and please my husband in between pray and read quran and make dua. while others, actually go out their giving dawa, embrasing and discovering and learning of ISLAM, why should i go to the same level of jannah as them, thats not fair, they deserve it and they deserve more than me.

he said 'Allah is great, he loves us, he judges us according to our ability and our intentions, Allah answers all our dua's inshallah, so what sheikh means is there is no harm in adding this to your dua'

i said 'i feel so ashamed and so embarrassed to stand infront of my lord and ask him for the highest rank of jannah because there are more hard working and better people out there' im not saying im a bad person or do haram, but i try hard to do what ever pleases allah, if Allah granted me the lowest level of jannah, im happy. Whatever he wants i'll go and i'll do. i do this for him.

this is how i think of life. but yes, i still make the dua of being granted highest rank in jannah, but upon making this dua i say 'oh allah, bring my faith and actions more closer to you, increase my knowledge and iman, so i feel i deserve the highest rank of jannah' that i feel better saying.

this is a good thread, jazakhallah kheir, we all have different opinons based on how we think, so i hope i have not upset anyone. what i said is what i think and feel. nothing else i promise.

Sister withAllaah'spowers, it's like if you give someone a date to break their fast, then you get equal reward of their fasting WITHOUT them losing any of it.

So if someone's spending all that time and effort in keeping the mosque clean with no intention of getting reward but just doing it to keep the place clean, then it's kind of like a waste. If they are told to have the intention as az101 suggested, then they can re-new their intention and the person who told them gets equal reward. There's nothing wrong with that.

i dont think im making sense. i really dont think there is anything wrong with it. but when doing something just to seek the rewards of it and not for it to be sincerilly done for Allah, then isnt that selfish. i mean, there is nothing wrong with offering a date to someone to break their fast, but to do it just because of its reward and not to encourage that person to break their fast with a date and not doing sincerilly out of kindness, but just for the reward, thats what i mean.

i dont know how to explain what i mean. i wish someone can put it in better words.

another quick example,

when az101 said we should tell the cleaner to make this "neya" firmly in his heart ..

that O Allah I clean this Masjid/prayer room for you only so that I get the reward of every single person who prays here/reads quran /memorises the Quran . ( every good deed done in the masjid )

is it nice to tell Allah and use the word ONLY so i get the reward. So if there was no reward you would not help out. isnt that rude to speak like that to Allah. i could never tell Allah i will do this but ONLY if you give this to me. Allah gave us so much, ability to walk, ability to see, learn hear, family, shelter the dunyah, the jannah, etc, why cant we do something nice for Allah without thinking im doing it for the reward. hasnt he rewarded us enough.

i also mean, there i no harm in doing something for reward, its beautiful to get rewards, jannah costs alot, we need rewards, but our intentions are what gives us these rewards. im not saying lets work for Allahs sake and tell Allah thats okay, we dont need rewards. no. what i mean is doing it for Allahs sake, and know 100% you will automatically get rewarded without asking. we always make dua for each other 'may allah reward you' 'jazakallah kheir' so there is nothing wrong with this, we are always going to get reward for the good we do, so there is no need in telling allah im doing this ONLY if you reward me.
im not making sense am i? sorry, but wish i could explain it better.

if your father asked you to mowe the lawn, putting Allahs rewards aside for a minute, would you do it because you love your dad and he is your father and he raised you and you dont want to upset him or will say 'ONLY if give me $20 i'll do it'

i'll say, i'll do it because his my father, i'll do it to make Allah happy and my third intention will be 'allah will reward me inshallah' but i will devote my action sincerilly for Allah and to help my father. i dont need a reward / money from my actual father to mowe the lawn or do him a favour.

if Allah does not reward me for helping my father, i will not be upset, i will continue to do it because his my father, and because Allah told us to make our parents happy and he will be happy with us.

this is only an example that i could come up with that might be able to express what i mean by my previous posts above
