question regarding halal&haram

Selamun Aleykum Brodhers&Sisters,

I have been living in Germany for around one year. Since I am not experienced enough to distinguish halal&haram food in a non Muslim country, I wanted to ask you about this. Although I surfed through internet to find out what are the haram ingredients, I couldn't find all the stuff listed which I buy here in Germany. For instance, is snickers halal or haram? another example is mozerella. in a website some mozerella brands are mentioned as halal while some are haram. Can any brother/sister show me a proper way how to chose halal foods if it is not written on the package?
