:salam2:
i wanted to know, if someone thinks that u are pious just because u pray 5 times and this person doesn't or u read quran and this person doesn't regulalry, does it make u an hypocrite? imagine, this person keeps telling u u are very pious while she doesn't know that u have also commited sins in th epast, that u regret them, but if she knew them, she wouldn't keep repating that u are pious, u are pious, does it make u an hypocrite?
AssalaamuAlaikum,
As far as Fardh (Farz) Ibadah are concerned, a person will be judged to be bad if he does not do Fardh Ibadah. This is for sure.
Secondly a person will be known for his great determination towards doing the other rights of Allah Subhanahu Wata'aalah AND his service and attitude towards the other Believers.
So as a matter of principle, other Muslims will judge you for your 'Present' Taqwah, Paying the Farz Ibadah and other good deeds. They can never know about your past.
If you had done some big sins in the past but repented truelly then you should feel satasfied as well as you must keep your dedication for doing more and more goodies so that you can be forgiven for your past sins (because you are not sure if you are forgiven yet or you need to do more work for this).
If you had done some big sins and you did not leave them till now, and other people think that you are pious but actually you are not. Then this matter will remain burden on your heart unless you repent. Surely it will be a hypocrisy that you are very ungly from inside but look good to others. You need to look good from inside first, while Farz ibadah is Farz, that has nothing to do with more piety.
Actually the situation of muslims currently is that, most of muslims dont offer prayers even, so the rare person who offers prayers is seen as a pious person.
But in the early age of Islam, almost all people used to pray and pay their Fara'idg, so they were judged from their addional devotion and not by their Fardh Ibadah.
So, in summary , better repent if you carry your sins.
And in case you repented already, then better do more and more charity and good work and leave the rest on Allah SubhaanahuWataalah.
Its a strange relation with Allah. That you show your hope of His mercy by feeling satisfied that he will bless you if you ask so, But at the same you feel unsatisfied about your current Taqwah and want to be more and more pious because of the fear of Allah SubhanahuWataalah.
This is because, you never know if you have been fogiven for your sins or still you need to do more. Maybe you Did Taobah and did very well, OR maybe you shed very few tears or did not replace the sins with enough good deeds.
For example, killing a person unjustified will not bring you Taobah so easy, until you ask for forgiveness from the Family of the person you killed.
It all depends:
1- How strongly you repented.
2- How much forgiveness you have asked Allah SWT.
3- What more and more good deeds you did , to replace those big sings.
Wassalaam,
VE
