Zakat and Sadaqah is important in Islam.

Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds and establish prayer and give zakah will have their reward with their God(Allah swt), and there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.
~Holy qur'an~Surat Al-Baqarah 2:277

:bismillah:
“Alms are for the poor and the needy, and those employed to administer the (funds); for those whose hearts have been (recently) reconciled (to the truth); for those in bondage and in debt; in the cause of Allah(swt); and for the wayfarer: (thus is it) ordained by Allah(swt) , and Allah(swt) is full of knowledge and wisdom.”
~Holy qur'an~At Taubah : 60.


"But if they repent, establish regular prayers, and practice regular charity, they are your brethren in Faith: (thus) do We explain the Signs in detail, for those who understand."
