:salam2:

NOTE: THESE QUESTIONS ARE NOT RELATED TO ANY ONE OF YOU. IT IS ALSO MY REQUEST THAT PLEASE TRY TO AVOID DIRECT ATTACK ON ANY ONE.

Q1) Is it permissible to have pet animals e.g cat, dog, or any other cute animal? the animals that you have for fun.
If they permissible? what are the guideline that we have to follow.

I myself used to have giant dogs, but its purpose was protection. Goats (lovely one), for milk...lol... There has been always a purpose behind whatever animal i used to have.

Q2) So can we have animals only for protection or any other valid reason OR
can we have animals in our home without any reason (or we only love them..so we have them lol)???

1 and 2 : Rasulullah said that cats are pets.

:salam2:
Jazakumullah khair brother for your comments.
Brother can you provide the reference of hadith to support this statement.:shake:

Rasulullah said about dogs, that it is only allowed to be keep for guarding livestocks, to guard cattles, and for hunting. Rasulullah said in Bukhari and Abu Daud, that anyone who keep dogs as pet, then their reward in Heaven will decrease every day as many as 2 mountains (2 Qiraath).

As about the use of dogs to sniff coccaine or to find lost people, then this is the same as hunting, which use their sniffering.
And about guiding blind man, it is from "guarding cattles."

Why is about the probihition? Muhammad 'alaihi Shalawatullahi wa Salaam said that Angels of Rahmat won't enter a house which inside of it there is a dog.

So :ma: the matter of having dogs is pretty clear in islam. We are not allowed to have them in our home unless or until our purpose is the same as described above. No matter how cute the dogs or the female dogs are we should not have them as pet animals.

What about other pet animals that people have in their houses. :)

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

Many Sahaba of the Prophet - Peace Be Upon Him and them all - had pets.. such as dogs and birds and so..

All kinds of pets are allowed, But in the case of Najas animals such as dogs, they must not be allowed inside our houses. For it must always be clean to pray in.

Our Prophet - Peace Be Upon Him - told that angels dont enter houses with pictures or dogs in them.

We must also treat those pets gentley with mercy and care, for animal abuse will cause us to go to Jahannam (Hell fire).

There is nothing wrong, as far as Islam is concerned, in keeping animals for which there is no prohibition on keeping them (such as dogs and pigs). It is reported that some of the Prophet’s Companions (may Allah be pleased with them all) were in the habit of keeping animals for farming purposes or for fun and pleasure.

It is reported that Anas Ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) had a young brother who had a nughayr (a small bird or nightingale). The bird died, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) noticed that the Anas’ younger brother was so sad and grieved, so he joked with him, and said to him words which implied approval of his keeping this bird. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to him, “O Abu `Umayr, what happened to the nughayr?”

In another hadith, the Prophet (peace and blessings of be upon him) is reported to have stated that a woman is doomed to enter Hell because of a cat “which she neither fed nor let it eat from the vermin of the earth.”

It is clear from the above hadith that if the woman had fed the cat, she would have been spared from Hell.

It was also narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) was called so because of a cat, which used to accompany him.

Therefore, it becomes clear that keeping animals, so long as you do not neglect them, is something which is permitted and it may even be one of the means of earning reward, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is reported to have said, “In every living being there is reward.”

In conclusion, we would like to say that the care and concern for human beings should take higher priority over the care of animals, and that the reward for that is greater.

Unfortunately, some people do pay a great deal of attention to their cats and spend large amounts of money on them when there are millions of needy Muslims all over the world who are in need of a single penny that is luxuriously spent on those pets.

It is better for us Muslims to pay attention to making the best use of our time in that which is beneficial and good. Some people spend more on their cats and dogs than they spend on their own sons and daughters, let alone the poor and needy. They may even bring their pets to stay in luxurious hotels and bequeath large amounts of money to them.”

"ALL KIND OF ANIMALS ARE ALLOWED to be as pet animals". i think this is very strong statement indeed. By saying "all animals" we are including CARNIVORES & HERBIVORES...

I saw this person who is raising a BLACK COBRA as his pet animal. So what you guys think about that.
