Abo Saeed Al Khudri [RA] reported that the Prophet صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ said:

"When the companion of the Qur'an enters Jannah, it will be said to him: 'Recite (the Qur'an) and rise (levels in Jannah)!'. So he will recite and rise a level in Jannah for each ayah that he recites, until he recites the last thing that is with him."

Reported by: Imam Ahmad, Ibn Majah. Authenticated as saheeh by Shaikh Al Albani.

Lessons:

1. The Prophet صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ used the word "Sahib" in the hadith. Sahib means companion, close friend. It also means owner, possessor of something. So, Sahibul Qur'an is the person who keeps the Qur'an close to them like their best friend, but at the same time, they have mastery over the Qur'an. The Sahibul Qur'an recites the book as its meant to be recited, understands the meaning of the book and most importantly, acts on the guidance in the book.

2. The hadith also is great encouragement to those aspiring to memorize the Qur'an, since the Sahibul Qur'an will recite as much as they had memorized. But just memorizing the Qur'an without understanding and without proper recitation doesn't make one Sahibul Qur'an.

3. The hadith also shows that by Allah's Mercy, anyone can attain the highest levels in paradise. How? By being a Sahibul Qur'an, may Allah make us of them, ameen.
