I have been blessed to be a Muslimah for almost eight years now and my life has been one of enlightenment and spiritual growth.
I am the mother of two adult daughters and have six grandchildren. I was widowed in December 2006, but Allah Ta'Ala saw fit to send me a soul mate in the deen, and we will be married at the end of this year inshaAllah.
I am studying to be a sociologist/psychologist. I want to work with women and children, specializing in the areas of domestic violence, substance abuse, and education. I am an honor student with a 3.9 GPA.
I am a writer, and have just learned that my work (an essay) is to be published this Fall in an anthology. I am also interested in painting although that is more of a personal effort.
I love Islamic Studies and hope to obtain a degree in Islamic Studies while pursuing my other goals. I strive to seek knowledge and to improve myself in all ways, to be a better Muslim.
I am glad to be here, and I look forward to participating and to learning.
