First of all, shiah dont fast or celebrate the 10th of muharram as we do. Muslims need to know what is hiding behind the 10th of muharram, the 10th of ashoora in shiah calander. 10th of ashoora is a celebration, happiness and joy cause ALlah s.va saved moosa and benu israaeel through the sea while He s.va drowned pharao and his soldiers. On the other hand, the shiah are considering the day of ashoora, the 10th of Muharram as grief and misery, because it is the day when Huseyn r.a, grandson of resulullah s.vas and son of Ali r.a was killed. The shiah say that the sunnis killed him, but in fact, it was the shiah themself who killed him. It is a long story of fitnah that happend between Jazeed ibn Muawiya and Husayn r.a. The shiah who said they were going to help Husayn and support him to lead an uprising and become the khalifa against Yazeed, in the end became tracherous and left Huseyn to be killed by the soldiers of Yazeed. So, the shiah whenever they used to pass by the grave of Husayn ra they used to feel guilty for hypocrisy. That is why they hit themselves now as a sorrow and grief. They cut and hit themselves with chains and razor sharp knives. So, finally, the shiah dont have nothing to do with us. Let them read their own quran of fatimah they have
. Anyways, that is a little sumarry of our jawmul ashoora and the ones the shiaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah blaaah, celebrate. P.s they need to make those knives little more sharper

I just watched movie about assasiation of Hz Hussein.I thought that it was the tragic story of all times.The army of yezid even didn't give his children water. Is it something 2 celebrate? Who can send an army against 70 ppl? Is it normal? He wanted 2 kill them b'cause they didn't give beyat 2 him. All 69 men were killed ad Hz Hussein was killed during prayer.they couldn't kill him face 2 face.The loved grandson of our prophet wasn't he one of best of men of his time?
I have no connection 2 ppl who killed Hz Hussein at all.I'm not even arab.Feel guilty???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

A film? Since when did films produce anything near to the truth, since when were they used as proof?
It doesn't matter what happens, we do not ward off the important days of Islaam, for the sake of any men, our worship is for Allaah alone. So on this day we fast for Allaah's sake hoping for reward and forgiveness.
Wallaahi the sincere mu'min will know that irregardless of history, he/she will still obey Allaah. So you won't see him/her for example, rejecting to comply with either the commands or recommendations of Allaah and His Messenger, sal-Allaahu `alayhi wasallam, for the sake of ANYONE! Only one who is deficient in his Islaam and Eemaan would do this.
The deen is for Allaah, not for Husayn, may Allaah be pleased with him. Rejecting the fast on this day due to history is complete and utter foolishness based upon effeminate emotions. Indeed I see it as a test from Allaah, in order to test those who are attached to personalities and those who prefer the Messenger, sal-Allaahu `alayhi wasallam. The Messenger, sal-Allaahu `alayhi wasallam is the best of mankind, far beyond the level of Husayn, his recommendations hold far more weight than doing something out of love and respect for Husayn. Subhaan Allaah, out of your "love" you reject the fast, but due to our love of one greater than him, we hold onto the fast, and anyone with any rationale will be able to determine which is more a praiseworthy...
This thread is about the virtues of Ashoorah for the Muslims who love Allaah and His Messenger, who hope to please their Lord. We do not need to move away from topic and argue points, for the Saheehayn (the authentic books of Imam al-Bukhari and Imam Muslim) are sufficient proof for the Muslims, except for those who have malice for the religion.
The virtues have been stated, the people have benefitted, so to prevent further useless discussion, thread can be closed.
