My little is 8, and she watches most turkish series's(tv show that are shown weekly) with my parents and she also watches Hannah Montana, The suite Life of zack and cody, Cory in the house, that's so raven, and thats it i think or there 1 or 2 more i'm not sure. Give me advice on which show she shouldn't watch and the ones that she can watch. The turkish series are bad, I need help to control her from watching and the disney channel ones because in The life of zack and cody there's kissing which isnt appropriate for islam. I dont want her watch bad things and get bad roll models..I want her to be and live islamicly..

as an american, most of us here, would say that shows like ZAK AND CODY, HANNAH MONTANA, THAT'S SO RAVEN and a few others are cnsidered good programs. they're not really good, but they are much better than the majority of the programs now playing on american television stations. from an islamic view, the shows aren't good at all. very often there is in fact kissing, bad humor, pranks, singing and dancing, uncovered women, makeup etc. things, if not considered haram, are definitely close to being haram. don't try to control her from watching these programs, but you should explain to her why watching them doesn't benefit her.

each of these shows are about 30 to 60 minutes long, think about how much times she's wasting, watching these shows, she's losing 2 hours at least in a day, that she could've used learning her religion.

You are the parent and as the mother it's your responsibility to control what she watches on t.v. and how much time she spends watching it. I agree that these shows are tame for American standards but why not watch some educational or maybe videos about Islam. She's young so I'm guessing she doesn't know the whole Quran yet, she should spend some time study it.:wasalam:
