Assalamu Alaikum..

In school..I feel like im responsible to tell people certain things when they talk about death or what's going to happen when the world ends...

Or when they talk about iraq, and other mid-east countries palestine.. what not.. but Im shy and embarrased and afraid..Im normally quiet and dont really talk...

Could you give me some advice.. (The members that are in US- could you also write what kind of things you say or do in these kind of situations) -- also others members too

Thanks..
Wa' Assalam..

If it's just a group of friends or workmates or something talking in a normal, friendly laid back conversation and they're talking about religion or something that I could relate to Islam I just bring it up casually. For example the other day I was at work and we were talking about the environment and planting trees and stuff and there was this girl next to me who said why are u so interested in planting a tree and I told her that it's very good for the evironment but also it's a good thing in my religion and when she asked me why it was, I told her the rewards of it and why we get rewarded for it and she seemed very interested and replied, "oh right. that makes sense." So next time someone talks about death just say "In a few religions people beleive in hell and heaven but there are differences between each religion regarding hell and heaven" That way it doesnt seem like ur preaching about Islam but just giving facts about different relgions including Islam!

we all feel the urge to talk and tell the world about islam and what we know about it, but some times it is wiser to be quiet..

Like Sal12 said, you can speake you mind in presence of close friends.. but not in a classroom full of none-muslims..

Why though..I mean yeah sometimes.. but I just feel like Im responsible for telling them about islam...I feel that when im not telling them something about islam I feel that Im taking the chance of them being muslims.. maybe me saying something or a few things is going to give them imaan..:(:(

Assalamu Alaikum!

Remember, everyone has freedom of speech. But you should find out about the subject before you judge it.

Its like when you go to a very good doctor, that makes you feel real good about yourself..
you want everybody to know about him so they can feel good to, it is the part of Rahma (Mercy) that Allah put in us..

Its just that i feel responsible for spreading the word...Not that i want them to feel good..but I feel responsible for keeping what i know to my self and not tell them..feel like im taking their chance of being muslims...
