I am a new member. My name is Jennifer Goodon. I live in Saarbrücken, Germany, with my Palestinian husband and four daughters. I am, however, from the USA (St. Louis, MO). I became a Muslim during my college years--that was eight years ago!! However, living in Germany has proven to pose several difficulties in learning about Islam. First of all, the language barrier was difficult, and although I can speak and read and write German very well, I wasn´t very interested in reading BOOKS in German (not even the newspaper), not to mention, that there isn´t as much literature in German as there is in English. AND, the Muslim community in this city has only recently begun to organize itself, bought a building for the mosque and offer German books to be bought. Still, I feel a bit isolated, and now that I finally have a computer and the access to the Internet, I have been reading a lot more about Islam and hope to make some friends.
I do find this site confusing, but I´m sure, if I stick to it, I´ll figure it all out.
