    Sunan Abi Dawud
    General Behavior (Kitab Al-Adab)
    (107) Chapter: What to say when going to sleep

    Narrated Hafsah, Ummul Mu'minin:

When the Messenger of Allah :saw: wanted to go to sleep, he put his right hand under his cheek and would then say: O Allah, guard me from Thy punishment on the day when Thou raisest up Thy servants. Three times.*

(( Allahumma Qini 'Azabaka Yawma Tab'athoo Ibaadak ))

*Al-Albani (r) : "Authentic without the saying three times."
The shaikh has compared the whole wording with others and found that the three times wasn't sahih compared to the rest of the statement.

    I got a quick doubt...
What about "Allahumma Bismika Amootu wa-ahyaa" ? is that authentic ?
To be honest I never knew about the above du'a until today, and Jazakallah Khair for sharing that.

That's also authentic. I learned this first actually before learning the one posted by Mabsoot. It's in the Hisnul Muslim maashaa'Allaah.

    Bismikal-lahumma amootu wa-ahya.
‘In Your name O Allah, I live and die.’

    JazakaAllahu khair Masboot brother!
I never knew about this dua. Will quickly write it down on my phone. :hijaby:
The other things which we should read before going to sleep are :
    1. SubhanAllah 33 times
    2. Allahu Akbar 34 times
    3. Alhumdulillah 33 times
I have also been taught to read Surah Nas & Surah Falak, Surah Ikhlas and Ayat ul kursi.
Are these authentic? Could anyone say?
