Ball or Muslim?
Sulaymaan ibn Surad (radi Allahu anhu) said: “Two men disputed in the presence of the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) when we were sitting with him. One of them was cursing the other out of anger, and his face was turning red. The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, ‘I know a word which, if he were to say it, what he is feeling would go away – A’oodhu Billaahi min ash-Shaytaan ir-rajeem.’” [Mishkaat al-Masaabeeh]
The meaning of this Dua is: “I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Shaytaan.” Anger is from the Shaytaan and when a person gets angry the devils play with him as they like and make him commit deeds befitting devils. If a person is hot tempered, then Shaytaan play with him like children play with a ball.
