Very good thread indeed. In the west, it isn't easy for us muslims. There's not as many scholars around, and it isn't easy to find a scholar in your vicinity or locality. I've struggled with question regarding islam myself, some have been answered and some have not been answered. I've come across individuals who will say their opinion is the correct one, which leads to confusion in the end. However, I'm very meticulous on what i decide to take-in as a muslim, and always try to solidfy or certify and things i hear or gets passed down to me in my society.
