Beauty Beyond Bounds!!!

Assalaamu-alaikum
Respected readers,
Earlier on today I posted in a poem on the beauty of our beloved Nabi Muhammed (s.a.w).All my facts were taken from an authentic kitaab called "shamaaile tirmidhi".
A reply was given to me by Alisha saying that it was a great sin to describe or imagine the beauty of our Master Nabi Muhammed (s.a.w). This shocked as well as grieved me alot.Subsequently my poem was removed from the forumn.This grieved me even more.I decided to consult a learned Mufti in my country regarding describing our beloved Nabi Muhammed (s.a.w). I also sent him the poem.He replied as follows "There is no sin as long as u avoid exaggeration to the extent of shirk" . He also said that the poem was absolutely fine and Ma sha Allah.

Beauty beyond bounds!!!

WHEN HE SPOKE A LIGHT EMITTED FROM HIS MUBAARAK TEETH
CALMLY AND CLEARLY, WORD BY WORD WITHOUT MUCH SPEED

A SIGN OF AWE WAS SEEN ON HIS FACE
AS HE WALKED IT SEEMED AS IF HE WAS DESCENDING FROM A HIGH PLACE

HE WAS NOT DARK NOR WAS HE VERY WHITE
YET MORE LUMINOUS THAN EVEN THE FULL MOON ON THE 14TH NIGHT

NOT VERY TALL NOR VERY SHORT BUT OF A MEDIUM STATURE
AWE INSPIRING AND CAPTIVATING BY NATURE

ANYONE MEETING HIM WOULD BE OVERCOME WITH A FEELING OF PROFOUND RESPECT
ON THEIR FACES HIS LIGHT WOULD REFLECT

HAIR WHICH WAS NOT CURLY NOR STRAIGHT BUT SLIGHTLY WAVY
HE USED TO PART IT IN THE MIDDLE OCCASIONALLY

HIS NOSE WAS PROMINENT AND HAD A LUSTRE ON IT
BOTH HIS EYEBROWS WERE SEPARATE AND DID NOT MEET

SO CLEAN,CLEAR AND BEAUTIFUL HE WAS IN CHARACTER
AS IF HIS ENTIRE BODY WAS MOULDED IN SILVER

WITH UTMOST MODESTY AND BASHFULNESS HE WOULD WALK
ALWAYS MAKING SALLAAM BEFORE HE BEGAN TO TALK

WHO? IS THIS ILLUSTRIOUS AND NOBLE BEING YOU MAY ASK
IT IS NONE OTHER THAT NABI MUHAMMED (SALALAHU-ALAHI-WASALLAM) WHO WAS SENT TO US!


HOW UNLUCKY IS MY EYE TO BE DEPRIVED OF SUCH ESTEEM
OH ALLAH,AT LEAST GRANT ME THE FAVOUR OF SEEING HIM IN MY DREAM

It can be said as this, it is acceptable to describe the Prophet from what was told to us in the Quran and Sunnah, such as:

Rabee'ah ibn Abi 'Abd al-Rahmaan said: "I heard Anas ibn Maalik (may Allaah be pleased with him) describing the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). He said: 'He was of average height, not too tall and not too short, with a pinkish colour, not very white and not dark, and his hair was neither very curly nor very straight. The Revelation came to him when he was forty years old, and he stayed in Makkah for ten years after the Revelation came, then in Madeenah for ten years. When he died, there were no more than twenty white hairs on his head and in his beard." (al-Bukhaari, 3283).

Al-Baraa' ibn 'Aazib said: "The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was broad shouldered and had thick hair coming down to his shoulders and earlobes. He was wearing red garments. I have never seen anything more beautiful than him." (Reported by Muslim, Kitaab al-Fadaa'il, Baab Sifat Sha'r al-Nabi (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), no. 2338).

'Ali said: "He was neither tall nor short, and had large hands and feet. He had a large head and was big-boned, and the thin line of hair (starting from his chest and extending to the navel) was long. When he walked, he would lean forward, as if he was walking downhill. I have never seen anyone like him, before or since." (Reported by al-Tirmidhi, 3570, who said this is a saheeh hasan hadeeth).

Jaabir ibn Samurah said: "The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was dalee' al-fam, ashkal al-'ayn and manhoos al-'aqib." Shu'bah said: "I asked Maalik, 'What is dalee' al-fam?' He said: 'Wide-mouthed.' I asked, 'What is ashkal al-'ayn?' He said, 'Big-eyed.' I asked, 'What is manhoos al-'aqib?' He said, 'His heels were not fleshy.'" (Saheeh Muslim, Kitaab al-Fadaa'il, 2339).

when attempting such a thing a person must be VERY careful so as not to spread some untruths. I am not a scholar to judge your poem in authenticity, nor place it as false.

Please I request of you, would you mind placing the hadith or sources from the book you used? Just to remain true and have everything authentic in content??

I would like to add some comments, as advise inshaAllah ... ( from what I learnt with my shaikh Abu Safwan Ehshan on this topic)


In saheeh Buhkaari, the prophet pbuh said: " Do not extol as the Christians extolled the son of Maryam. For I am just His slave, so say, the slave of Allaah and His Messenger" and that is above any other advice (QUOTE "There is no sin as long as u avoid exaggeration to the extent of shirk") because maybe something is not shirk, but it is a way to shirk. And the quoted advice gave me the impression that u can exaggerate.That was just a general comment and not in refernce to this particular poem

And I'd like to say someting about the line:

"HOW UNLUCKY IS MY EYE TO BE DEPRIVED OF SUCH ESTEEM
OH ALLAH,AT LEAST GRANT ME THE FAVOUR OF SEEING HIM IN MY DREAM"

Regarding this, is a hadeeth: "Whoever sees me in a dream has really seen me, because Shaytaan cannot appear in my image." Bukhaari and Muslim

In bukhari, 6478, The Taabei Ibn Siiriin says " Idhaa ra'ahu fii sooratihi" ... if i'm correct is " (Shaytaan cannot resemble him) WHEN THAT PERSON HAS SEEM HIM ( in his true image)

In other words, the shaytaan can take the image of someone else and claim to be the prophet.

Of Course, that doesnt mean no body can ever see the prophet in his dream ... but only those who really know him, thru the ahadith
