Friendship in Islam is important . From Qur'an we know that we are equal and we can be better just by piety and we all must be like brothers and sisters in Islam .
We must :
- tell them when meet : " Assalamu alaikom wa rahmatuallah wa barakatu " ;
- respect our friends ;
- take care of them;
- trust them ;
- protect them ;
- be sincere with them ;
- help them to do good things or to solve problems ;
- be kind with them;
- try to not upset them ;
- try to not be upset on them ;
- wish for them what we wish for ourselves ;
- not consider them worthless then us ;
- not give them something we do not like ;
- not treat them as we do not want to be treaten ;
- try to get what is good in their character ;
- not judge them when they mistake ;
- advice them when they need and with kindness and in privacy when they have a bad behaviour ;
- listen them ;
- do not hurt their feelings ;
- understand their feeling and moods ;
- give them compliments ;
- disagree without hurting them ;
- give them chance to change ;
- accept their invitations ;
- visit them when they are ill ;
- participate to their deaths .
The Prophet saws said that a muslim must not be upset on his brother more than 3 days .
Islam teaches us to smile and hug when we meet a brother/sister in Islam to show that we appreciate and care about them and wanna see them pleased . Even smile we offer to someone is considered sadaqa ( we get reward from Allah swt ) so why not smiling more and receiving more rewards ?
• Good friends are dependable.
