Salaam,

I am sorry but in rereading your post you state you are proud of being an American. You give us excuses for what the US has done. You tell me not to live here.
I simply asked your understanding of jihad and you have skirted the issue.
You go on to wish to stop the discussion with me.
I have not misunderstood you. I will respect your wishes. I will not write on this thread. Ironic. The bottom line is you who preach love and respect have asked an older Muslim sister not to live in the US. Go figure.

Dear sister Mairo, salaam alike
I just saw your new post and all your questions.
But as its about 7am in the UK and haven’t slept all night, thats why I can answer your questions right now. But I'll Inshallah reply to all of them in the very next future.

In the mean time I request you please to not mention your Nationality, as Muslims we are only one Nation.
Allah SWT has created for us the earth to live in with each other in peace and harmony, and of course follow his command and the Sunnah of beloved Prophet PBUH. But unfortunately thats we who give different name and Nationalities to each other. Allah SWT will never ask us our nationality, but our faith. So every Muslim has the right to live at any part of this world. This world is not property of america. We Muslims should live hands to hands and make this world a better place for obedience of Allah SWT and His Prophet PBUH.
Ok sister sorry now I'm really very tired and Inshallah will continue the discussion with you.
Jazak Allah

I am sorry but in rereading your post you state you are proud of being an American. - I do not see any contradiction between being proud of being a Muslim and being proud of being a citizen of the US. That does not mean I condone any evil that has been committed at the hands of the people in power of the US. Not all of the people who have attained ranks of in power in this country have had an evil agenda. Although some of them certainly have.

You give us excuses for what the US has done. - I did not give excuses for any of the evils that have been brought in the world at the hands of Amercians. In fact, I stated that those who have been injustly oppressed by all means have the right to seek justice and fight back until no oppression or persecution remained. I did list some of the good things that the US has done as well, as I have found these examples can be ignored. America can be viewed as intrinsically evil by some. I think this is a dangerous conclusion to make.

You tell me not to live here. - I did not tell you not to live here. I merely asked you why it is you choose to live here if you consider America so terrible? You did not answer that question. Remember, Allah reminds us in the Quran that the world is large, if you feel maligned in a certain place, it is possible to relocate to a place will be better/more peaceful.

I simply asked your understanding of jihad and you have skirted the issue. - I did not skirt the issue. I answered you directly. It sounds like you may have been unhappy with my response or disagreed with my understanding of jihad. But you did not clearly state your understanding of jihad in response or how it differed from mine. I also asked you several questions in my post, but you did not answer one of them.

You go on to wish to stop the discussion with me. - The only reason for this is because it does not appear to me that any good or benefit will come out of the discussion. If there is any benefit that can come to anyone, by all means by Allah allow the discussion to continue. You have the right to your opinion just as I have the right to mine. I hope you do respect that, I certainly do. I do not seek to bicker back and forth with you or any other brother/sister. I stated my intentions at the beginning of this thread.

I have not misunderstood you. - That is your belief. I know that I feel misunderstood in what I have been trying to convey. I am sure that the fault for that may be on myself, but God knows I have been trying my best to be as clear as possible. Sometimes words themselves can betray us. I trust in the fact that Allah knows best.

I will respect your wishes. I will not write on this thread. - You are certainly free and welcome to write on this thread if you wish. I only wished to tell you that I will not continue in an argument or debate with you that as far as I can tell, has no benefit. As I tried to explain before, we each have the right to our own point of view and I hope that if we cannot come to understanding, we can at least respect the right each other has to express our thoughts.

The bottom line is you who preach love and respect have asked an older Muslim sister not to live in the US. - As I mentioned before I only questioned you as to why you live here when you find it so terrible and it is possible to move somewhere else? I do not mean any disrespect towards you whatsoever, Sister. I sincerely hope for your well being. Whether you believe it or not, that is the truth.

God bless

Wa aleikum salaam Jamafg,

Thank you very much for your response and your advice. I am in agreement with everything you said. I just want to clarify that I did not mean to imply that I think this world is the property of America - by all means no it is not! Absolutely, every Muslim has the right to live at any part of the world, there should be no borders when it comes to Islam.

I look forward to your response to my other questions. Your time and effort is appreciated.

God bless
