DALORI: A survivor hidden in a tree says he watched Boko Haram extremists firebomb huts and heard the screams of children burning to death, among 86 people officials say died in the latest attack by Nigeria's homegrown Islamic extremists.
Scores of charred corpses and bodies with bullet wounds littered the streets from Saturday night's attack on Dalori village and two nearby camps housing 25,000 refugees, according to survivors and soldiers at the scene just 5 kilometers from Maiduguri, the birthplace of Boko Haram and the biggest city in Nigeria's northeast.
The shooting, burning and explosions from three suicide bombers continued for nearly four hours in the unprotected area, survivor Alamin Bakura said, weeping on a telephone call to The Associated Press.
He said several of his family members were killed or wounded.
The violence continued as three female suicide bombers blew up among people who managed to flee to neighboring Gamori village, killing many people, according to a soldier at the scene who insisted on anonymity because he is not authorised to speak to journalists.
Troops arrived at Dalori around 8:40 pm Saturday but were unable to overcome the attackers, who were better armed, said soldiers who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to speak to the press.
The Boko Haram fighters only retreated after reinforcements arrived with heavier weapons, they said.
Journalists visited the carnage Sunday and spoke to survivors who complained it had taken too long for help to arrive from nearby Maiduguri, the military headquarters of the fight to curb Boko Haram.
They said they fear another attack. Eighty-six bodies were collected by Sunday afternoon, according to Mohammed Kanar, area coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency.
Another 62 people are being treated for burns, said Abba Musa of the State Specialist Hospital in Maiduguri. Boko Haram has been attacking soft targets, increasingly with suicide bombers, since the military last year drove them out of towns and villages in northeastern Nigeria.
The 6-year uprising has killed about 20,000 people and driven 2.5 million from their homes.

assalamu alaykum

The only thing I can think of that could alleviate the problems Muslims are facing is more effort in Islamic education. Perhaps scholars should focus on discussing the implementation of Islam, shariah and what constitutes jihad. That targeting of civillians is a severe crime. Of course, It has been done before, but perhaps the hardline extremist stance is what is propagated in many of these regions. What drives these people to burn children alive in the name of Islam? They are hijacking our beautiful religion and way of life for their own nefarious schemes and ideas.

This reminds me the silenced news how zionists burned Palestinians alive during the first intifada. The evil is everywhere - just same for who´s name people believe to act.

They will not stop the madness till all christians are dead or gone.

Seems they dislike Muslims too as they attack against anybody who disagrees with them. Just like Daesh, they want to rule using terror and horror and one practice to keep people under their rule is violence.

This is horrific. These murderers are not true followers of Islam, like the Israeli soldiers and settlers are not true followers of Judaism and the KKK are not true followers of Christianity.

This is truth Sister Herb, although Boko Haram do primarily persecute christians they do not mind killing muslims too if they disagree with them. They and other groups like them whatever "religion" they claim to belong to are doing the work of their master who is Satan. They maybe do not know that but good god fearing people all know that Satan is master of deceit and father of lies. We all know their way is NOT Gods way. Nor do I believe it to be Islam's way. Such people are a disgrace to Islam. If that is too harsh, then forgive me but I say how I see.

I desired 51% as Good.
But what is the reality!!!??? Reality is simple...that's why we are here in this thread.

But you know, we should continue to uphold the truth and peace. At least for our self satisfaction.

Zaman-gm I believe the good to be higher then 51%. Because I know God is all that is good and evil will never prevail against Him. The bad is always minority like Boko Haram, Daesh, KKK etc evil "cults" who use Gods name in vain. These are minority.. How many muslims in the world? How many christians? These bad are a tiny minority. Unfortunately we see by the very nature of their evil it is assured they have the loudest voices and make the most noise, which makes them seem bigger than they are. In reality they are only cowards.

They cannot win because even if the midst of the chaos and evil they cause good people do Gods work helping each other. Ordinary people put themselves at risk helping others in perilous situations. We all must uphold truth and Peace not only for ourselves but for God... Because to do so is to glorify Him.
