Assalammualaikum,

Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi roji'oon. From Allah we come & to Allah do we return.
Normally a revert is registered with the Islamic Religious Council of their country or at a conversion centre and probably given the certificate of conversion to Islam whereby he/she is required to sign & acknowledge that he embraced Islam out of his own free will & agree that in the event of his/her death, his/her body shall be buried in accordance with muslim rites.

Inna-Li-allahi-Wa-Inna-ilayhi-Rajioun (We belong to God and to God we shall return.) I am both sad and happy for our brother. Death is always sad, but at least we know where he is heading. A recent revert is guaranteed a clean slate (All prior sins are forgiven.)
