:salam2:
Poshhhhh. Dont take this the wrong way. I'd love to swim, more than anything. I learned when i was young, and loved it soooo sooo much! Haha, people have been asking if I forgot (not possible!). Regardless of how much I'd like to go swimming, I wouldn't do it:
1. In a "burkini" > I think it is disgraceful. Sorry for the opinions otherwise. It's connations with the "bikini" the "western" style along with the idea of having it be considered proper hijab just makes me angry. If that is thought of as proper hijab to go walking around in, then I'd like to ask where the 'Haya is? I mean really now.
Just because it "covers" all parts of you, that is NOT all the conditions of Hijab that are required. Where's the looseness? Where is the "not attracting undue attention" part?
I will never consider Burkini as Hijab. Astagfir'ullah. May Allah protect us all, and prevent us women for giving in for less for the sake of our pleasures and desires.
2. Around non-mahrams > you cannot possitively say that you will not be caught in a part where your awrah is not covered properly. nobody can say what might happen, and if they can see you and are "around" you, it's still not proper.
3. On a public beach > have you seen those places? Man... ew... I couldn't even consider swimming, much rather do anything except cover my eyes and make a dash for it!
and so on and so forth... I don't want to waste my time on this.
Salam Alaikum
Basically just a swim suit for women that we can wear around non merhams
wa alaykum salam...
basically regardless, like i said, it's not proper Hijab and I would never wear it, unless i was with strict family and even then without anything else i would be embarrassed. Maybe it's culture, maybe it is how i was grown up, but i would be ashamed to even wear that without anything in front of my father.
