Assalaamu 'alaykum!
Shaykh ‘Abdul Muhsin Al-’Abbaad mentions:

“There is no doubt that it is obligatory upon Ahlu Sunnah in every time and place to unify and be merciful to each other, and to cooperate upon righteousness and taqwaa.
However it is distressing that in this time we see differing, coldness and indifference emanating from some of Ahlu Sunnah which has resulted in some of them busying themselves with disparagement of people, warning and boycotting. This, whereas it is obligatory upon them to expend their efforts in combating the disbelievers and the People of Innovation who oppose Ahlu Sunnah, and it is obligatory upon them to be merciful amongst themselves and bringing each other together…”
