can i recite "bismillah" before surah 9 (tawbah)

to Allah we belong

i know that we are not supposed to say Bismillah before reciting Surah Tawbah.

but wht if i open Quran to start recitation and surah tawbah is the one frm where i will start.

can i recite Bismillah then?

if you say it without realizing(out of habit)then that's okay..........but if you know it's surah tawbah you are about to recite then you don't say it:)

I dont want to go into details but if u study the books of Hadeeth you will realise that 'Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem' is considered as part of sooratil Faatihah, actually it is the first aayah or verse of the said chapter. The sahaabah only used 'bismillah' to indicate the beginning of a new soorah or chapter otherwise the different chapters used to be differentiated with a short pause when reciting. Therefore we can use the same convenience to distinguish between individual soorahs without being wrong so long as we realise the 'bismillah' is not a part of any other soorah except soorah al Faatihah and Allaah knows best!
