It was narrated that ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘Whoever innovates something in this matter of ours [i.e., Islam] that is not part of it will have it rejected.’” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, Kitaab al-Sulh, 2499).
“And whatsoever the Messenger (Muhammad) gives you, take it; and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it)” [al-Hashr 59:7]
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “I urge you to adhere to my Sunnah [way] and the way of the Rightly-Guided khaleefahs. Adhere to it and cling tightly to it. And beware of newly-invented matters [in religion], for every newly-invented matter is an innovation and every innovation is a going-astray.” (Narrated by Abu Dawood, al-Sunnah, 3991; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood, no. 3851).
“Follow what has been sent down unto you from your Lord, and follow not any awliyaa’ (protectors, helpers, etc.) besides Him. Little do you remember!” [al-A’raaf 7:3]
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) stated repeatedly that: “Every newly-invented thing is a bid’ah (innovation), every bid’ah is a going astray, and every going astray will be in the Fire.” (Reported by al-Nisaa’i in al-Sunan, Salaat al-’Eedayn, Baab kayfa al-Khutbah).
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to say, when beginning a khutbah (sermon): “… The best of speech is the Book of Allaah and the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad. The worst of things are those which are newly-invented, and every innovation is a going astray…” (reported by Muslim, no. 867)
The Prophet Muhammad saw did not celebrate his birthday so why are you celebrating his? In Islam, there are only 2 eids, Eid-l Adha and Eid-l Fitr. Stay away from bidah.

A Christian woman asks about the Prophet’s birthday and what it means to the Muslims http://www.islamqa.com/en/ref/13810

Celebrating birthdays is not allowed http://www.islamqa.com/en/ref/1027

In regard to those who say that celebrating Prophet’s birthday is bidah hasanah, there is no such thing as bidah hasanah in Islam.

salaamualaikum

Salaamualaikum dear brothers and sisters,

We are blessed to have become the Ummah of the Greatest Prophet Mohammed PBUH, We should definetly show our happiness on his blessed birthday and give congratulations to each other for the same.

We should spend the whole day of our Blessed Prophet's birthday sending Salawat(Darood Shareef) to our Prophet PBUH and Also recite beautiful Salaam's in his Honour.

We should (if Allah SWT has given us plenty ) cook food and feed the poor and orphans.

In this way we can come more closer to our Master and Huzoor MOhammed PBUH and hope best reward from ALLAH SWT.

jazak allah khair sister for sharing this...

"Beware of Satan, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things."

Last Sermon of Prophet Mohammed

Celebrating B'day isnt our tradition, its the tradition of pagans who celebrate the B'day of their so called God...n later on individuals.. unfortunately some muslims too have adopted this....

" My Ummah will follow the Jews and the Christians inch by inch and cubit by cubit ........"

Saheeh muslim……Chapter 3: FOLLOWING THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE JEWS AND THE CHRISTIANS
Bk 33, Number 6448:
Abu Sa'id al−Khudri reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: You would tread the same path as was trodden by those before you inch by inch and step by step so much so that if they had entered into the hole of the lizard, you would follow them in this also. We said: Allah's Messenger, do you mean Jews and Christians (by your words)" those before you"? He said: Who else (than those two religious groups)?

True love for Prophet :saw: is following his sunnat......

MAY ALLAH SAVE US FROM THIS BIDDAT.......

Assalamu allaicum wa raahmatulah wa baarkatuhu

Dear sister, as it has been explained from sister " Hayat-yahya" post, celebration of birthday of our Prophet Mohammed sallahu alyah wa saalam is a bidaah, a new thing, which is not beloning to Islaam, neither teachings of Islaam by first generations of Muslims.Inshallah, it is well explained in the links that sister has posted. Please dear sister reed it, because we should be very carefull regarding supporting or following the wrong in Islaam.

Instead of celebrating birthday of Allahs Messanger Mohammed sallahu alayha wa saalam, we should love him and follow him on the way that we follow his Sunnah.

May Allah subhan wa teala guide us all.

Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal r.a said:

"Foundations of the Sunnah with us are: Adherence to the one on which they were companions of the Prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, following their example, leaving bidats (innovation), because every innovation is misleading.

Adherence to the one on which they were companions of the Prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, following their examples,

Proof of this are the words of the Almighty: "And those who oppose the Messenger after him clearly show the right path, and follows a path that is not the way believers, we turn to what it was intended, and we'll throw him in hell, and bad is a confluence . "(An-Nisa, 115)

The Prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, said: "One of you is long-lived will see many differences, so follow my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the righteous caliphs. Firmly grasp for them. "(Saheeh Abi Dawood, 3851)
