Character

I know following the steps of how the Prophet Muhammad was is the best. However, I do want to follow some of his steps, but the same time, I want to have my own Character.

Can anyone like help me out with this with their opinions?

but,sometimes...we need experience...a person,we could learn from it,the right from the wrong

As Salaamu Alaykum, He was the Qur'aan walking, if u wr 2 try 2 live ur life like 1 Surah may ALLAH give u Jannah, we can't obtain the favours that ALLAH blessed r NABI with. Try to implement 1 surah in ur life and do it everyday. May ALLAH make it easy for you. Which of the favours of your Lord will you deny?

following the Prophet PBUH is the best thing a human being can do to get closer to God, but you can still balance the equilibrium between the sunnah and your own personality.

its not like, the Prophet likes the color green, therefore i MUST like green as well

What's wrong with having his character? His is the best character of all mankind; i see no reason for me to want to be different from him. Ok, the example of the favourite colour. My favourite colours are white and blue but now I like green too...it doesn't have to be my favourite colour (and it isn't....yet) but when I get all dreamy and remember that people in Paradise will be wearing green silk, I completely love the colour. Because all of a sudden it symbolises/reminds me of Paradise.

And other things the Prophet (peace be upon him) liked to do/wear/eat; those things just make you feel closer to him. It's like when you want to share something that your beloved loves...not because you like those things but because it makes you feel closer to the one you love. I would love to emulate Rasulallah in every way (within my capacity as a woman)...I want HIS character.
