The Messenger of Allaah, , said: “Whoever sets a good precedent in Islam will have the reward for that and the reward of those who do it after him, without that detracting from their reward in the slightest. And whoever sets a bad precedent in Islam will bear the burden of sin for that, and the burden of those who do it after him, without that detracting from their burden in the slightest.” [Muslim]

The Prophet said:
‘Has Allaah not prescribed for you what you can give in charity? In every exaltation (of Allaah) there is (the reward of an object of) charity, in every glorification (of Allaah) there is (the reward of an object of) charity, in every praise (of Allaah) there is (the reward of an object of) charity, in every affirmation of the Oneness of Allaah there is (the reward of an object of) charity, in enjoining good there is (the reward of an object of) charity, in forbidding evil there is (the reward of an object of) charity, and in man's sexual Intercourse (with his wife) there is (the reward of an object of) charity.’” [Muslim]

The Prophet, , said: “If people knew what virtue lies in the Athaan and [praying] in the first row, and they could not [obtain these opportunities] except by drawing lots, they would definitely do so. If they knew what virtue lies in going early to prayer, they would have vied with one another [to do so]. If they knew what virtue lies in the evening and morning prayers, they would definitely go to them, even if crawling on their knees.”
It is narrated on the authority of Abi Taweel that he came to the Messenger of Allaah, , and said,
"What do you think of a man who has committed all kinds of sins, and left nothing thereof, and left no desire nor lust but that he has fulfilled (or neither a minor nor a major sin but that he has committed)? Is there repentance for him?" He, said: "Have you embraced Islam?" He said, "As for me, I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, the One and Only, who has no partner with Him, and that you are the Messenger of Allaah." He, , said: "Do good deeds, and leave misdeeds, perchance Allaah The Almighty will replace all of them with good deeds." He said, "And even my breach of conduct and wicked behavior?" He , said: "Yes." On that he said, "Glorified be Allaah." He continued to glorify Allaah The Almighty until he left. [At-Tabaraani] [Al-Albaani: Saheeh]

Allaah Says in a Qudsi Hadeeth (sacred narration): "My slave keeps on coming closer to Me through performing voluntary acts of worship till I love him." [Al-Bukhaari] The verb "keeps on" signifies continuity. The Messenger of Allaah, , said: “Keep on performing Hajj and ‘Umrah." [At-Tirmithi] Continuous good deeds and persistence on them is among the things which Allaah The Almighty loves. The Prophet, , was asked, "What deeds are loved most by Allaah?" He said: "The most regular constant deeds even though they may be few." [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim] It was narrated that if the Prophet, , performed a certain act, he used to do it constantly. [Muslim]
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who said:

"Allah (glorified and exalted be He) has supernumerary angels who rove about seeking out gatherings in which Allah's name is being invoked: they sit with them and fold their wings round each other, filling in that which is between them and between the lowest heaven. When [the people in the gathering] depart, [the angels] ascend and rise up to heaven." He (the Prophet - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Then Allah (mighty and sublime be He) asks them - [though] He is most knowing about them: 'From where have you come?' And they say: 'We have come from some servants of Yours on Earth: they were glorifying You (Subhana llah), exalting you (Allahu akbar), witnessing that there is no god but You (La ilaha illa llah), praising You (Al-Hamdu lillah), and asking [favours] of You.' He says: 'And what do they ask of Me?' They say: 'They ask of You Your Paradise.' He says: 'And have they seen My Paradise?' They say: 'No, O Lord.' He says: 'And how would it be were they to have seen My Paradise!' They say: 'And they ask protection of You.' He says: 'From what do they ask protection of Me?' They say: 'From Your Hell-fire, O Lord.' He says: 'And have they seen My Hell-fire?' They say: 'No.' He says: 'And how would it be were they to have seen My Hell-fire!' They say: 'And they ask for Your forgiveness.'" He (the Prophet - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Then He says: 'I have forgiven them and I have bestowed upon them what they have asked for, and I have granted them sanctuary from that from which they asked protection.'" He (the Prophet - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "They say: 'O Lord, among then is So-and-so, a much sinning servant, who was merely passing by and sat down with them.'" He (the Prophet - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "And He says: 'And to him [too] I have given forgiveness: he who sits with such people shall not suffer.'"
Abu Huraira (ra) said, the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, "A woman was tortured for a cat she imprisoned until it died. She went to hell because of it, having neither fed it nor watered it, for she confined it and would not let it go forage on the small creatures of the earth" [Bukhari]

The Prophet (pbuh) said, "If someone kills a sparrow for sport, the sparrow ill cry out on the day of judgement, 'O Lord! Ask this person why he killed me in vain and did not kil lme for any useful purpose'" [An Nasai]

Abu Hurairah mentions that people said to the Prophet (Pbuh): “Messenger of Allah, a certain woman stands up for prayer at night and fasts during the day, and does many a good thing and gives money for charity but she offends her neighbours with what she says.” He said: “She is not a good person. She is one of the people of the fire.” They said: “A certain woman prays only obligatory prayers and gives little for charity but she does not offend anyone. The Prophet said: “she is one of the people of heaven.” (Related by Ahmad, Al-Burkhari in Al-Adab Al-Mufrad and others)

Narrated Abdullah: I or somebody, asked Allah's Apostle "Which is the biggest sin in the Sight of Allah?" He said, "That you set up a rival (in worship) to Allah though He Alone created you." I asked, "What is next?" He said, "Then, that you kill your son, being afraid that he may share your meals with you." I asked, "What is next?" He said, "That you commit illegal sexual intercourse with the wife of your neighbor." Then the following Verse was revealed to confirm the statement of Allah's Apostle: "Those who invoke not with Allah, any other god, nor kill life as Allah has forbidden except for just cause, nor commit illegal sexual intercourse." (25.68) - Sahih Bukhari, Volume 6, Number 284

In a Hadith of the Holy Prophet it is narrated that,

“Whosoever has in his heart, even a atom of pride he will not enter paradise.”

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say:

"The first of people against whom judgment will be pronounced on the Day of Resurrection will be a man who died a martyr. He will be brought and Allah will make known to him His favours and he will recognize them. [The Almighty] will say: 'And what did you do about them?' He will say: 'I fought for You until I died a martyr.' He will say: 'You have lied - you did but fight that it might be said [of you]: 'He is courageous.'' And so it was said. Then he will be ordered to be dragged along on his face until he is cast into Hell-fire. [Another] will be a man who has studied [religious] knowledge and has taught it and who used to recite the Qur'an. He will be brought and Allah will make known to him His favours and he will recognize them. [The Almighty] will say: 'And what did you do about them?' He will say: 'I studied [religious] knowledge and I taught it and I recited the Qur'an for Your sake.' He will say: 'You have lied - you did but study [religious] knowledge that it might be said [of you]: 'He is learned.'' And you recited the Qur'an that it might be said [of you]: 'He is a reciter.' And so it was said. Then he will be ordered to be dragged along on his face until he is cast into Hell-fire. [Another] will be a man whom Allah had made rich and to whom He had given all kinds of wealth. He will be brought and Allah will make known to him His favours and he will recognize them. [The Almighty] will say: 'And what did you do about them?' He will say: 'I left no path [un-trodden] in which You like money to be spent without spending in it for Your sake.' He will say: 'You have lied - you did but do so that it might be said [of you]: 'He is open-handed.'' And so it was said. Then he will be ordered to be dragged along on his face until he is cast into Hell-fire."
