concerning salah ,reading fatiha twice

i have a question..

can we read Al Fatiha 2 times , instead of reading it 1 time and a surah after
plz note .i am awar that its sunnah to read the second surah

and 1 more, is there a limit on how many surah i can read in 1 rakah

for second question:
2-yes you can read how much you want to read even the whole quran in rak3a as Hothman ibn Afane did in Thadjud in Ramadan .... but you have to know the sunna and how our profete peace be upon him was reading in obligatory prayer ...

Assalamou Alikom Wrahmatou Allah,

Reading Al fatihah is a necessary and sufficient condition for doing Salat. Hence, the salat is correct even when you read only Al fatihah during your salat. This is because al fatihah can repalce any other chapters in coran but none of the other chapters could repalce al fatihah. (this is what scholars say)

However, reading a sourah after al fatihah is a strong sunnah and it is considered by all scholars as a very necessary condition to consider the salah correct.

Now, by a syllogistic argument we can say that "you have to read some Coran after al fatihah, al fatihah is a some of the coran then we deduce that you can read al fatihah twice".

But why did we make it so complicated and unclear for ourselfs while we can avoid the ambiguity ? Hence, personally I'll keep reading a different sourah after al fatihah.
