Golden Churn Butter

PUTRAJAYA:
The Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) confirm all butter product brand Pure Creamy Butter Golden Churn Butter products Ballantyne Food Company PTY Ltd. of New Zealand is marketed in this country is not halal.
JAKIM Director-General Mr Othman Mustapha, in a statement here yesterday, said the matter was decided in discussions between the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumer Affairs: Department of Chemistry, Food Safety and Quality Division Ministry of Health, Sarawak Islamic Religious Department (Jais) and the Department Johor Islamic (JAIJ) on 8 August.
"Reports received analysis IRAD July 19 and showed deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) confirmed pigs detected in the Chemistry Department in respect of butter and all products comes from the same factory even though the different imported and distributed in different markets. This confirmed the company's own representatives.
"In this regard, Muslims are asked not to use this product. This decision was notified to the company on 9 August and Ballantyne Food Food PTY Ltd. agreed to withdraw the product from the market, "he said.
He also advised shareholders and new applications for Halal Certification from JAKIM or state Islamic departments already use products which involved taking four actions:
• Changing the ingredients involved in with the other ingredients have a halal certificate that is recognized;
• Submit the receipt of new ingredients;
• Having witnessed the process of ritual cleansing process by using clay soil and water, known as ‘samak’ the state Islamic religious department;
• Submit a letter of proof of ritual cleansing process by using clay soil and water, known as ‘samak’ from the state Islamic religious department.
To avoid confusion related to the halal issue,Mr Othman asked the authorities to refer to the website at

and do not refer to informal sources such as social web sites.
