Assalam Alaikum:
The wave of discontent against present system of rule that began Egypt as epicenter has now stuck India also. Some Non-Political literate social activists have launched an effective agitation against economic corruption that extends all around including the central govt. ministerial. The movement gained fast expansion, consequently Govt. of India initiated some steps to fight corruption through judiciary.
Let us consider economic corruption only the issue. Can corruption which begins right from the home (rather heart) of a citizen (Indian) be remedied,through even strict legal impositions?.
I will answer no definitely not. The corruption in the system is manifestation of corrupt souls. The souls need to be purified and rendered pious if any sort of corruption that prevails in society to be eradicated.
God consciousness or Taqwa is the only way to purify a soul. An individual aware of the fact that my Lord is taking account of each and every action (round the clock) of him/her will be least prone to committing sins of any sort. This realization must be supplemented by another fact that the account of an individual which closes with his/her demise would be reopened on a day of justice when he/she would be rewarded for his/her deeds or punished for his/her sins.
Taqwa can't penetrate a heart without belief in Tawheed. Without belief in Tawheed no Taqwa acquired. For polytheists there are plenty of Gods. Pray one God,commit sin and ask for forgiveness to another God.
In nutshell Islam is the only remedy to set a corruption-less society. Economic corruption is just one aspect of diseased society,the list is very long.
