Cutting off Kinship

I wanted to share this hadeeth I read before.

Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) said:

''Qati' (the person who cuts off the bond of kinship) will not enter paradise''

And what about those relatives who make ones life miserable, and deceive and backbite and try their best to cut the relations?

then what should one do?
