Death, the grave and hereafter

Everyone shall taste death. And only on the Day of Resurrection shall you be paid your wages in full. And whoever is removed away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, he indeed is successful. The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception (a deceiving thing). (Ale-'Imran).

Astaghfirullaah, many of us, including myself purposely shun the thought of death, the grave and the hereafter. We get so distracted and busy in this life too much, that we neglect what is more important. We think we're young and free, and that we should enjoy ourselves, that we are far from death and that we will start practicing Islam when we become old. But, the reality is that the timing of our death is already set, we don't know when we are going to depart from this duniya.
Although many of us are in our youth, we are still accountable for our actions, we are no longer kids, so we have no excuse to not practice Islam. We should often remember death, the grave and the hereafter, in order to better ourselves and prepare.

inshaAllaah, I will listen and bookmark this thread, but I wanted to say "JazakaAllaah khairan for reminding us about this topic!"

We think we're young and free, and that we should enjoy ourselves, that we are far from death and that we will start practicing Islam when we become old.

This thought has misled many of us (I talk about myself before anyone else here) subhanaAllaah, Shaitan beautifies this life and makes it seem "eternal" but, a Muslim's wake up call is the Quran that beautifully tells us what this world is in reality.
I ask Allaah to make us die as believers!ameen
