I have a question regarding saying the prayer silently or loudly.
In some Rakas or some of the 5 prayers some parts should be read loud or silent, But I was woundering what the difference is ?

I mean when we should recite silently, then you should still hear yourself saying the words and when it is loud we are supposed to recite the words so I can hear myself. So there are no difference or what am I missing here ?

:salam2: ,
It is the Sunnah of Prophet SAWS that we follow here. It is basically for Jamaa' . If you are alone you always realise what you are reciting be it silently or loudly it doesn't mater.

Ok, so when I pray alone, no matter which Raka in which prayer, I SHOULD ALWAYS HEAR MY OWN VOICE ?

When is it right to recite only in your heart then ?

This has to do with the early muslim community in Makkah, they raised their voices in fajr becuase the mushrikeen where asleep and could not hear them but duhur and asr there was the possibilty of being over heared and face torment, as for magrib then the people where busy with theyre animals etc and Isha most people where asleep.
