lol - dancing around in circles :p

The Sahaba were better Muslims then anyone living today and I'm trying to think of any that actually danced around in circles because of their 'holiness' or whatever.. it just sounds so funny ..lol

...hm I guess we're all supposed to pray as though Allah (s) is in front of us (with that level of conscientiousness) ..I dont know what you mean by direct contact actually?

It is based on the philosophy that since Allah created every thing and therefore a part of everything. I believe its called wadetal wajuud. It was adopted by many driwash who shun away from material world but also the true worship of Allah as told by Him and created their own means and purposes to fulfil it. dancing in circles imply that God is in the heart and one revolves around it constantly. I am not gonna defend this act since it has no basis in Islam. God told us to do tasbeeh in any stat of being, but to adopt a state so that one can do a tasbeeh other than salat sounds like a bid-ah.

the only person more close of being called a true darwish is hazrat owais karni (ra). and i have not seen any evidance of him doing such acts of worship.
Help me God if i am wrong.

I am pretty sure Suffi's dance around in circles as well...it's not how it is a part of worship that amuses me, rather how they dont get dizzy and fall down.
And regarding direct contact, well isn't salat direct contact with Allah sw? There is a hadith that states with every aya one recites from surah fatiha while praying, Allah sw responds...for example when you say Alhamdu lilahi rabil Alamin, Allah sw replies My servant thanked me etc etc. Anything beyond that is an innovation.
Also, forgetting about the whole world does not make someone 'holy'. Leading a noraml life makes a person holy. There is a another hadith wherein it states some sahabi came to know that Prophet Mohammed asw was continuosly fasted, so some vowed to fast without breaking, some vowed to never approach the their wives and I forgot what the others vowed. When the Prophet asw came to know of what was going on, he said that he asw was the best of people and yet he used to fast and break his fast, he used to worship Allah and spend time with his family...

And Allah sw knows best
I would be so interested in knowing where these people are
