Do I have to pray Isha again? Urgent..?

Assalamu 'alaykum.

I went to the masjid to pray Isha +Taraweeh today and as soon I got there I found people praying, and I thought they were praying Taraweeh already so I joined in and my intention was to pray Taraweeh but then I realized they were praying Isha! Do I have to pray Isha again because my intentions were wrong?

That makes sense. Since it was my first Taraweeh at a masjid I had no idea what I was doing.. Hopefully they count as nawafil prayers at least insha'Allah. JazakAllahu khayr though brother, I prayed Isha right before Fajr just in case.

Usually they pray total 8 rakah taraweeh in sets of 2 or whole 20 rakah taraweeh in sets of 2 depending on masjid. Arab majority majids usually do 8 while desi majority usually do 20.

Anyways, if you go to www.islamqa.com and type in isha and taraweeh, you'll get some interesting results.

Our masjid did 8 rak'ahs, it's a mixture of Arabs and people from the subcontinent.

And yes, alhamdulillah. Islamqa is a great site, I wouldn't know what to do if it weren't for TTI & that site. May Allah reward them. Ameen.
