Asalaamu'Alykum,

In terms of the muslims smoking - the methods in helping them seems to have no affect. A nice gesture for the advise although not really taken into account. I know a few brothers at college that smoke, seems to be stress and anxiety that is the main problem which leads to them smoking. If only the brothers hastened to prayer, just experience a large Jamaat it would Insh'Allah relieve that stress, anxiety or grief.

This is not just brothers, but sisters as well. ohhh Subhan'Allah it converts your heart into sadness when you see a sister smoking. :(

The above was not to disrespect sisters or anything, just something i witnessed. The fact muslims are turning towards smoking which "relieves stress" although kills is sad.

I even used Yassir Fazaga's example about the fact the tobacco is poison, although it is packaged in a way to look beautiful and entice the individual to purchase it. In a pack, closed up - nice and neat, and wrapped up once again. This accumalates to the person forgetting about the warning at the front "Smoking Kills".

There has to be another solution - i just can't think of anything which i have not used.

Alhamdulilah

Wasalam

i was a smoker

Asalamoalaikum

I was a smoker for 5 years, Alhamdolillah i have now stoped. I am not 100% on this hadith but i have heard , When the sahabas asked the prophet Muhammad pbuh about smoking tobacco , our beloved prophet never answered the question. As Muslims we should try and follow the sunnah of our beloved , The prophet never smoked so i think neither should we. Secondly commiting suicide in Islam is haraam. Now if someone gets cancer due to heavy smoking is that not the same as killing yourself? These are the reasons why i have stoped .

May Allah forgive me if i have said anything wrong.

Asalaamu'Alykum,

^ An inspiration for us all. (In terms of placing a lot of effort in will help you reach your goal) I am not denying the fact that giving up can be difficult although slowly increasing your knowledge in Islam Insh'Allah you will start to realise the waste of committing such an act.

as we know it is haram to waste money on useless stuff and smoking is useless so I would guess it is haram. That would be logical, secondly it is unhealthy and self-destructive as some have pointed out.

salam aleikum, I will never smoke subhanAllah, it stinks and puts dirt everywhere
