Does race exist ?

I know humans don't all look the same but could race just be a myth people 1000 years ago did not divide people by skin color or race they divided people by economic class or religion or language.

"Race" doesn't exist on a biological level. It merely serves as an anthropological index and even in that capacity it is falling into disuse. Most equate "Race" with physical appearance. That is incorrect. For example, Australian Aborigines are caucasian, not negro so it is an incredibly misunderstood concept.
