He said, "I only complain of my suffering and my grief to Allah , and I know from Allah that which you do not know."
Surah Yusuf - Ayah 86
A beautiful lesson for us to be like Prophet Ya'qub and in the midst of unbelievably difficult circumstances we should always turn to Allah and realize that Allah is the one who hears all complaints. Even if we complain to the creation, what can they do for us?
When we ask Allah SWT for help, He sends us the tools we need.
That is why we "complain to the creation." When a baby cries because its hungry, Allah SWT sends its mother. Its mother goes to the store to buy milk and food. If the store runs out of milk and food, the mother complains to the store manager. the store manager goes into the stock room and finds some milk. See? Allah SWT opens doors for us.
That does not mean we don't have patience.
However, you are incorrect when you say that we should not complain about our problems to others. I know a family whose son disappeared. The police did an investigation and could find no trace of him, other than foul play (there were signs of kidnapping but no body could be found). The parents were devastated but they did not sit in their home just crying and praying. They hired their own private investigators to do a further search. Allah SWT gave them the financial resources to do so. Ultimately, their son could not be found and he has since been legally declared dead.
We must do everything we can to solve our problems. Sometimes the ONLY thing we can do is complain to Allah. But often He gives us tools and avenues and people who will assist us.
